Too hot for CPAC

CPAC Nevers have censored a scheduled panel on free speech.

Pamela Geller worked for months on a panel discussion.  At the last minute, CPAC told her that the founder of Gateway Pundit would be banned because he “supports Nazis.”   Geller said she would not cancel anyone from speaking at a panel discussion on free speech.

  1. I wonder if this is a case of attacking a site for its comments. I know Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit closed comments for a long time because people were associating commenters views as his own.

CPAC does not like controversy. They are not going to allow someone that will make them look bad in the eyes of the Washington press corps. For that short term gain they will suffer and lose long term. Instead of a Free Speech panel they could give a Flee Speech panel.

  2. It’s not even a question of censorship per se.  It’s the left’s propaganda machines putting words in someone else’s mouth, and CPAC believing the left.  Outrageous conduct for a supposed free speech panel discussion.

It is sad because lives get destroyed this way. People remember the outrageous lies and forget the truth.

  4. CPAC are part of the outer party that is Conservatism, Inc. The deal is, they are part the ruling class, and as such, hate Trump and hate free speech. They do not believe in free speech, they believe in their power, and keeping their power.

CPAC is a bunch of young people who want to go into politics. Sick, sick sick. We should ban anyone under 30 from politics, and tell them they have to go do a real job for a while. Heh.

  5. I think CPAC were looking hard to find some way to send Pamela Geller away.   They pushed her into a room that only seats 150, then changed that to a room that only seats 60.  CPAC has always preferred the Surrender Caucus to Social Conservatives anyhow.

  6. I have always found a correlation between bow ties, lattes, conservative by book learning and the ability to act like a cheap Mean Girls movie all seem to blend.

I get my share of the gossip line from the “Formerly Young  Conservatives” from a trusted source, and it ain’t pretty, but is petty.

I read Gateway Pundit and have found it to be useful and like all sites, taken with a grain of salt. I have yet to see this mysterious Alt Right Boogeyman stuff there, which means

A; It is not there   OR

B: It is so insidious it is there but well disguised so it cannot be detected.
