From my library, and because Spring is nigh. I miss Toute Suite.

Do you ever take the boat out on salt water? My brother has a boat and just goes to lakes in Washington State. He says it’s a lot easier on the boat.

I don’t consider a 20 foot runabout worthy of challenging Ole Salty. That said, you almost can’t break a fiberglass hull. I’m a lake kinda guy who fishes with no bait so as to remain uninterrupted. The excitement came from pulling young-uns on a biscuit, using the power and steering to full advantage.
Alas, but thankfully, this summer I’m renting a patio boat and cruising Lake Billy Chinook at a placid pace.

You mean the First Annual Ratburger Billy Chinook Cruise. Get your lounge chairs early.

Nice boat. My Granddad built boats, my dad grew up on them and I never got the bug. I always enjoyed someone else’s boat.
Billy Chinook is a good place to float about.

Understand; you get the bug or not. Billy Chinook is fabulous, and the only way to actually see it is by boat. I grew up with my dad’s Thompson lapstrake 16 foot beauty with an 80HP motor that was perfect for skiing. As a kid, watched the Round Butte dam being built, creating Lake Billy Chinook. The floods filled it more rapidly than anticipated. Beautiful country.
