TOTD 2018-06-15: The Road from Mandalay Bay

On October 11. 2017, there was an atrocity in Vegas.    After it was over, the FBI and local police rushed to declare that it was a lone nutcase, not at all terror related, despite ISIS claiming responsibility.  The media promptly dropped it into the memory hole next to the attempted massacre of Congress by a Bernie supporter.  But not everyone was following the script from the Party.

Laura Loomer, working on Dangerous, the site owned by  Milo Yiannopoulos, has actually done investigative reporting into this incident, and located evidence in a recent cache of FOIA documents that points toward the atrocity being a terror attack with more actors involved.

Her article includes links to other articles she has written.  There is obviously more to the attack than the initial report. The FBI had notice of a terror threat regarding Mandalay Bay, had evidence of ISIS connections with the shooter’s friends, and evidence of more people with the shooter.

Despite this, I must admit that the FBI could possibly be correct, as remote as that sounds.  On the other hand, I am beginning to think that the FBI is completely uninterested in actually doing their jobs of investigating crimes, as opposed to playing politics.  Even most bureaucrats are still interested in accomplishing their goal – EPA wants to write rules and bust polluters, etc.  A reputation is gained with difficulty, and lost quickly

Last but not least, this is going on Ratburger exclusively, as I imagine all the usual suspects at R> would wet their diapers over using a source connected with Milo.

  1. That seemed like such a senseless crime. You would think that if anyplace would be secure it would be Las Vegas. Cameras are everywhere. There is a lot of private security.

I am not sure what the facts are but there is usually a rush to say the person acted alone.

  2. Thanks, Omega

I am cynical also on what really happened. The memory hole thing always raises a red flag for me. I do believe, if the victims were black and attending a rap concert. No stone would have been left unturned in getting to the bottom of things.

  4. A lone shooter breaking two windows … a bit odd.

Any perceived danger would be bad for business in Vegas — which is the trade show capital of the world. A trade show slow down could effect deal making and other business and so a perceived Vegas danger could effect world economy negatively. The incentive was there for the local AND federal government to keep quiet so I am not surprised we may never know what really happened.

  5. 10 Cents:
Is it because Milo is gay?

No, it is because Milo is a vocal Trump supporter and a professional internet troll.  I give him credit, he can dish it out as well as take it.  He even lent his voice and likeness to an incredibly violent video game so that people could kill him virtually.

He also got hit with a smear (from team Never of course)  that took some black humor about his past as a victim of childhood sexual abuse as an endorsement of pedophilia.

His book is really interesting reading.

He is literally dangerous to the left.  Truth, even coated with his bombast, is powerful.  His sexuality is irrelevant, even though he sometimes uses it as punctuation when making arguments.
