Mischief-making

I really have found myself much less interested in subject-matter on another site and have posted a query asking who or what is disappearing all the interesting people, subject- matter, and conversation. I’ll let you know if I get any straight answers.

  1. I use Twitter, but don’t rely on it for announcements. Things just scroll on by and all I can do is sample now and then. It has been many years since I used an RSS reader, and don’t remember if it works the same way there. The advantage of email is that I can get to it when I get to it. If I’ve gotten way behind and need to do a mass deletion, it’s easy.  And I can mark the items I want to give more attention, because they don’t disappear just because I’ve looked at them.

Most people no longer use email as their information hub, but I wish it could still work that way. Unfortunately, the internet these days is mostly about going backwards and making life harder. (I just set up my first-ever Windows 10 computer, and don’t think of it as progress.)

I put them on probation when I renewed early this year.  They are going the wrong way.

Can you do that, Phil? Is that single probation or double secret probation?

I recall announcing it at some point.  Not secret.  Not that TPTB over there would remember.  They’re oblivious to their negativity.

I also think some people aren’t posting because they are tired of having, not a discussion, but an argument with the same folks over and over. It is not worth the time. I don’t post, but even in the comments I decide whether what I’m going to say will attract certain responses from the known “trolls” (for lack of a better description). I have better things to.

You stated this well. To cover the same points over and over again does seem pointless and heaven forbid that in frustration you clearly state the situation.

And just to prove the point, there is yet another post about voting for Dems by the same person for the gazzilionth time.

    “The Center Blight”?

I had said for over three years before my banishment (now nearly a year ago), that they had no clue as to where the “center” is, and when they say “Center-Right,” at best they achieve centrism, and at times they seem to be closer to Center-Left.

As near as I can tell from the chatter of Ratburghers who retain dual citizenship, they have only become worse in the past year.

I was wrong; when they banned TKC 1101 I encouraged all the Recriminators by saying that things would get better.   My apologies, y’all.

Bubba, what objective facts did you have that it was going to get better after TKC got banned? (I am taking for granted there were some.)

First, recall that TKC 1101 was banned just two weeks before the inauguration.

It seemed to me that the energy behind Never-ism would dissipate as Team Trump achieved conservative victories.   From the announced Cabinet nominees and the senior staff on the Transition Team after Trump won, it was clear that conservative victories were going to come our way.

But it turned out that Nevers are Never first, and only secondarily are they conservatives.   They are loyal elitists.   TKC 1101 was correct when he called them “Never Right,” because they turned their backs on a Republican nominee who was making conservative campaign promises and gathering conservatives in his campaign staff and talking about conservatives for important Administration posts, and continuing to talk about “draining the Swamp.”

After the election, the NeverTrumps of R>, along with a couple of famous “conservative niche publications,” preferred to double up on Never rather than help President Trump deliver on his campaign promises, even after it became very clear that President Trump was honestly trying to deliver on his campaign promises, which were conservative in nature.

I misjudged them; I had been reading their stuff for a long time, and I had the mistaken idea that they were honest about wanting to bring conservative policies into government.

It turned out that they only wanted to bring themselves into government.   Now that they find themselves still on the outside, only with real conservatives on the inside, their words and actions are indistinguishable from the Left.

  5. PHCheese, after about 4 comments on my post over there, revealed where a number of these cowpokes have wandered. And some still ride in both territories. I hope that information is useful for some who might not have known.

The big question no one is asking is “Why is Bob Thompson such a trouble maker?”

    • “I wish I had an answer to that, because I’m tired of answering that question.”

“You can observe a lot by watching.”

I must say that I have been busy reviewing comments over there where I had asked why all the interesting people were being disappeared. Actually it’s my post with the most comments ever because I’m not one of those interesting people. But my question apparently created some defensiveness among the powers that be over there as if I were trying to say they were taking sides in the debates involving pro-Trump and anti-Trump members. I actually believe they are noticing the effects of their handiwork.

So you weren’t trying to say that TPTB at R> were taking sides ?

    Too bad.

But that would be safe.   When I said it they called me a liar and decided that amounted to conspiracy theorizing and therefore a violation deserving of redaction, insults and suspension.

Bob, would you be willing to give lessons on mischief making? I am asking for a friend.

I was looking for some revealing and I got some. I really believe that site has lost a great deal through their adoption of one of the foremost accepted strictures on speech, that is, ‘be nice’.  I prefer civility in interaction but I consider it a big mistake to reduce drastically the overall quality by banning people who are expressive. I do believe the overall effect of what TPTB have done is to favor anti-Trump positions. This is accomplished by making prominent holders of that view ‘contributors’. Those contributors are talented writers who couch numerous insults of Trump supporters within their submissions without directing those at specific individuals and without using prohibited words and expressions. They repetitively grossly insult supporters of the President knowing this will not be well received by others with whom they are conversing. It’s tiresome and I’m sure many of those here who were banned have no regrets. There are still some very interesting people there and I will miss them when my subscription expires.

I was not banned for being expressive.

I was banned for commenting on double standards and unequal treatment.

“Quarreling with the refs” was their phrase.

I never expected them to change.   What I did hope for, and what I told them in several private conversations, was some honesty.   I wanted them to admit that R> is tilted to NeverTrump.

Instead they called me a liar, along with other insults, and gave me a series of suspensions that culminated in being banned from that sorry site.
