New Normal

Remember when President O said that his very weak economic recovery was “the new normal.” He said that the sort of economic recovery we had historically experienced after a recession was no longer possible.

He was full of stuff. He was reading Leftist economics and drinking his team’s Kool-aid.

Hillary campaigned on a continuation of Obama policy.

D.J. Trump campaigned on an “America first” platform, unconcerned about the unfortunate history of that phrase. His key slogan was “Make America Great Again,” which he pledged to do by rolling back regulations, ending anti-business policies, promoting jobs and deals, and cutting taxes. He ran a pro-America, pro-business campaign, a breath of fresh air after eight years of our first Anti-American President.

Business confidence began to rise on the morning after the election of 2016, and is still rising. Consumer confidence is catching up, despite an amazing level of fearmongering by Leftist mass media.

And the numbers are continuing to support President Trump. I saw the jobs report for January, and happened to click on an article at CNN Business, titled “Hiring Boomed in January.” Here is a line that caught my attention:

The continued hot pace of job growth is evidence that people who may have been sidelined by the Great Recession more than a decade ago are still coming off the sidelines. Labor force participation grew slightly, to its highest level since 2013.

We are still digging out of the hole we fell into in 2008. Team Obama had simply been digging it deeper. We are only now recovering.

Go Trump go.

MAGA

  1. Here is the link to the article at CNN Business:

Here is another quote from that article:

The Federal Reserve said this week that it would hold off on interest rate hikes for at least the next several months, giving Wall Street the best of both worlds: Good economic news, and less fear that it will lead to the Fed tightening the money supply.

    That’s the spirit.

The more modern and manipulative version of the political conjecture for low expectations. 🙂

Well, it would have been the new normal if Hillary had won.   Obama was expecting to bequeath the Presidency on his chosen successor.

    We’re making progress then.

  5. I never understood why America First conjured up so much aingst. When that term was used prior to our involvement inWWII, we were being pressured to take on a foe we were in no shape to take on, particularly militarily. Second we had no reason to join the fight, unless again you rely on the crusading trope of US moral superiority (which is a myth).

People who besmirch America First are the folks who never have to pay the price for the policies that America First would stymie. People like Bill Kristol or Max Boot whose family would never be affected by their dumb empire are the ones who don’t want to put America First nor do they want to Make America Great Again. They just want to bomb other countries and stroke their egos about smart they are on the international scene.

I disagree here because the Jews during WWII were devastated and suffered as no other people in modern history. Benjamin Netanyahu and Ariel Sharon were not going to take s**t from anyone anymore and as an American student of our magnificent Revolution I somehow feel as if they are my soulmates.

Here’s where I disagree with many so-called students of history:

True fascism (aka OWS here in the U.S) lives  in whatever form it chooses to take. Those two (the Kristols) disappointed me almost beyond belief because they were unable to recognize the specific faces that fascism can take but they did recognize it was a reality. I don’t blame them for their stringent opinions and I will miss WS.

I might not use CNN as a resource for any reliable news, but my real estate and mortgage stocks have gone sky high this week. Hurrah!

But MJB, what about Russian Collusion™ eh? And those tweeeeets! Horrible.

Which is the obsession of Leftist mass media.   They will not give it up.

Which is why we need to mock them and taunt them and call them out for Fake News.   Your comment is very good in this regard.   I hope you are putting similar comments out on Facebook and other social media.   The key to defeating the Democrats is to make their media accomplices into a laughingstock.

I have a house full of leftist guests right now. At dinner I offered the notion that Trump probably uses Russian dressing on his salad hence Russian Collusion. Then, I tried to lead them in a chant of Orange Man Bad/Orange Man Bad but they wouldn’t go for it. Can’t imagine why.

Mockery is the best approach. They’re impervious to reason.
