Gov. Ralph Northam

I have to admit I enjoy when people who trash people get trashed. Ralph Northam was vicious against Ed Gillespie. Now he is reaping what he sowed.

The Left doesn’t quite get it. They are putting in rules that are more apt to destroy them than the Right. They have walk-in closets full of skeletons.

Personally, I could careless if someone for fun dresses up for a party. No big deal. It is a sight gag and not what is in their heart.

  1. That’s exactly right.  I really don’t see what is soooo awful about this photo. “Shocking!” “Despicable!”  Really, the media even on Fox act like he killed somebody.

Lets jusr even say, okay, he was making fun of black people.  There.  So what?

Dudja see Trump’s tweet, to the effect that Gillespie oughta sue his oppo research team for not finding this before  the election? 😂😂😂😂

After what happened to  Roy Moore, to Kavanaugh, and now this guy, every politician in the country must be hunting up his or her yearbooks from high school through professional school.

The Left doesn’t quite get it.

This is the essence of the Left, although I think you could leave out “quite”.

If they could think more than one move ahead, they wouldn’t be on the Left.  They think, “Wow!  We’ll put the taxes up to 91% on the rich, and look at how much money we’ll get!”  That is as far as they think.  Anybody with more than an occasional cortex will realise that “the rich” will say, “heck, if I only get a dime for every additional dollar I earn, I’ll just take it easy when I hit that bracket” or, “To heck with that.  I’m out of here.  I’ll keep what I earn and pass it on to my kids outside your grabbing fingers.”

But they don’t think more than one move ahead.  They don’t realise that when they abolish the filibuster that it can be be used against them when the Senate flips.  They don’t realise that by using judicial and executive power they create precedents which can enact policies they oppose when the other side gets in.  It’s like playing chess with an opponent who’s distracted or drunk.  You need to exploit their inattention.

What is dismaying is that the opposition to the slavers has been almost as incompetent as them in opposing their agenda.

  3. I shouldn’t say this online but I have about 20 episodes of Amos and Andy . I haven’t watched them for awhile because they are on VCR. The thing is to me anyhow they are extremely funny but not racial at all. These characters are hilarious no matter their color. I am mostly Irish and if the characters were Irish it wouldn’t make a difference. I guess I can acknowledge that it could be insulting to some thin skinned black people but not any worse than the junk that tries to pass a humorous today.

  4. The reason for the hullaboo about the racist photo from 1984 is so they can talk about something besides his remarks approving of infanticide.   The Democrat-Media Complex would rather sacrifice a sitting governor for racism than try to defend their extremists who favor infanticide.   Though they racked up a couple of recent pro-abortion victories, the trend has been against them for 20 years.

his comments about fellow Democrat Del. Kathy Tran’s abortion-through-birth bill.Tran had admitted that her now-defeated bill would have allowed abortion even as a mother was “dilating” and going into labor.

“So in this particular example, if the mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen: The infant would be delivered; the infant would be kept comfortable; the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desire, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother,” Northam said during a radio interview on Wednesday.

  5. regarding the left’s infanticide acceptance: it gives the lie to any claim that they are only doing it for the ‘health of the mother.’ If the baby has already been delivered, how is killing the baby an act affecting the mother’s health? They are sociopaths.

There are signs that the opposition is learning. They’re still stupid but getting slightly less so. The Northam picture is no big deal to me but turnabout is fair play. Instead of insisting on staying above the fray, some in the opposition are learning how to hit below the belt just like the other guys do. It’s about time.

They were just on a roll with the mental health aspect. In their wacky world the mother’s mental health might somehow be improved if she did not have to live with the knowledge that her child had been given up for adoption, etc.

In addition to infanticide, I think they realized that by taking it so far they actually implicated fathers’ rights. Those fathers’ rights would theoretically be in play before birth.

Thus they had two reasons to quickly change the subject.

  8. Does anyone know who leaked the photo? Seems weird that it comes out NOW, after the Governor made the left look bad by telling the truth about the fact that they are a bunch of  baby killers. I mean, they want to kill babies, make no mistake about that,  but they don’t want anyone to just come out and say it, and that is what the Governor did. I think this was leaked by the left, but I could be wrong.

Oh no,  dear Pencilvania–if you are a mom, surely you know your child affects your mental health for the rest of your life!

    She drives you crazy!

She makes you ecstatically, manically  happy!

She causes acute and irrational anxiety!

Whatever she does, it affects you  like nobody else’s actions can!

“A sword shall pierce your heart also”….yes, no doubt about it: becoming a mother IS hazardous to a woman’s mental health.

    (Just like love itself.)

Didja hear the latest?   The Lieut. Gov in Va is black.  But, now that he might be ascending to the big chair, a sexual assault allegation against him from 15 years ago has surfaced–“again”, as he himself said!

I’m thinking, for some reason, of a box of Kleenex–dispose of one, and another pops up.

Aren’t  we eventually gonna hafta reach a consensus about some kinda social statute of limitations?

I mean, with the Obamas, they had a very good team making sure, way in advance,  that nobody would ever get to see anything negative–not  even a bad grade!

But when you unleash the power of citizen informants, like, every single person who attended the politician’s school(s) , there’s no way you can possibly suppress all information.  Where are we going with this?

  11. I’m a life-long Virginian. This isn’t surprising in the least. 30 years ago, college kids would have been making crass jokes and doing stupid stuff like that, and it would have been written off as idiot college kids acting like idiot college kids. That doesn’t excuse it or condone it. It’s simply a fact that our current culture wants to judge everything by today’s standards and then condemn it to feed modern self-righteousness. There is no allowance for changing realizations, standards of decency, or even repentance and redemption. I don’t think it’s healthy for society to continue this way. It’s arrogant, and it eventually consumes everyone.

All of that said, the Left has made these rules, and they need to be held to their own rules. Northam ran a despicable ad depicting a pickup truck with a Gillespie bumper sticker attempting to run down a group of minority children and on other occasions baselessly smeared him as a racist. Forgive me for lacking sympathy for Northam’s plight.

If anything, there’s an actual reason to wonder about Northam given his history:

    • He refused to shake hands with his black GOP opponent for Lt Gov after a debate six years ago, pointedly ignoring EW Jackson’s proffered hand twice
    • He was willing to remove any mention of his black Lt Gov running mate Justin Fairfax from a campaign flier to appease a union which hadn’t endorsed Fairfax while including the white Attorney General running mate
    • His college nickname was Coonman
    • He has admitted to going to a party in blackface as Michael Jackson, even if it wasn’t the party in the photo

We see how little Northam takes this seriously in that he nearly did the moonwalk for reporters before being stopped by his wife. He won’t be impeached because he’s done nothing impeachable in office. If he refuses to resign, it may bolster the GOP in VA. Rumors are his college classmates sent the yearbook photo to the press because they were disgusted with his infanticide stance.

Interestingly, his Lt Gov, Fairfax, is now being accused of sexual assault. Last year, we were supposed to believe all women. I guess they forgot to add, “unless it’s a Democrat being accused.”

Let’s not leave the worthless VA GOP out of all this. They have run bad candidate after bad candidate, ignoring better options like Nick Freitas and losing winnable election after winnable election. How did no one in the GOP find out about these photos before now? Someone knew these existed. The VA GOP was blindsided in 2017, pissing away a supermajority in the House of Delegates in one election to a two-seat majority. They show no indication they are prepared to prevent getting swept away and losing both houses of the General Assembly in this year’s elections.

Yeah but, no. I enjoy reading Quillette because it has articles with unorthodox points of view. Not in this case, however. In an article entitled “Why Does Ralph Northam Deserve No Mercy?” [hint: the author argues he does], a lefty writer lectures us on forgiveness. Some of the folks in the comments are having none of it:

We know that your plea for forgiveness is based solely on account of this evil man’s tribal affiliation. You cannot convince us that you would offer the same forgiveness to one of the Deplorables.

Northam deserves no mercy whatsoever. Why? Because he is a Democrat and because the Democrats set up these crazy rules. If Northam had been a Republican, would we be seeing think pieces about how, come to think of it, maybe our poltics have gone too far? Of course not. But a Democrat gets a taste of the Left’s merciless, Scarlett Letter brand of politics, and suddenly we hear second thoughts

live by Alinsky’s Rules, die by Alinsky’s Rules.

Of course, there are also a few defenders of the author. Still, incidents such as this are useful in that they put the Left in a quandary: revealing hypocrisy by advocating for forgiveness or eating their own. Either way, it’s a win.

  14. Wait, his nickname was “Coonman”?

Wouldn’t that imply he liked black people?

Are we sure it wasn’t “Moonman”?

And, if he was pretending to be Michael Jackson, wouldn’t he have lightened  his face?

No, I don’t think we’ve seen any serious journalistic skills applied to Northam’s story yet.  Who is  he, really?

Coonman is listed as his nickname in his VMI yearbook. Not an inapt nickname if one is in the habit of donning blackface. This was the Michael Jackson era when he was still a black man and not trying to turn into a white Diana Ross.

I didn’t realize that John Wilkes Booth was quoting the Latin motto of Virginia, Sic semper tyrannis, after his deed.

It’s on our flag. It means, “Thus always to tyrants”

It’s on the seal which is on the flag.

It does seem strange that Virginia was pro-slavery at the time they were anti tyrants.

Would you like to expand this?

    OK.

First, as far as J. Wilkes Booth was concerned, the tyrant Lincoln had sent his Army of the Potomac into Virginia to bring down the government of Virginia and replace it with a government more to his liking.

The Yankees changed Southerners from Virginians, Georgians, Tennesseeans, etc., into Americans.

They also changed what it means to be an American.

Now I am an American.   I am living in occupied territory.

Yankees write the history books that the schools use to teach my kids.   Yankees dominate the Big Education machine that determines what will be taught.   It was only a couple of decades ago that Texas figured out how to fight back in the textbook wars, but their fight has been a rearguard action.   The only way to oppose the Yankee-dominated Big Education machine is to put your kids in private schools or homeschool.

Yankees own Big Media, so that they controlled the flow of information, right up until this century (in which control shifted to the Left Coast).   Yankees control the law schools, turning out hordes of Left-leaning lawyers and jurists.   Yankees write the rules for banks and stock exchanges.   Yankees write the rules under which commerce is conducted, and by which insurance is regulated.

By nationalizing everything, they have emasculated the states.   They even wrote our state constitutions for us and issued them to us.   Then, when our forebears pushed back and went too far with Jim Crow, they seized power over how we run elections.

There is nothing that happens in the Southern states that is not heavily influenced by, or in many cases directly controlled by, Yankees.   Southern ways are long gone.   We are all Americans now, and not in the good sense that that term formerly held.

So we are reduced to whining as Yankees cheer and reward the scalawags that are destroying the remaining vestiges of Southern culture.
