  2. When they had ‘stars’ back then, it seemed they earned it. Hope started out a boxer named Packey East in London and Cagney was from New York’s Lower East side. Hard working guys who managed fame pretty well.

  3. Love that clip! I guess dance as a whole has declined since movie musicals faded in the 60s. There are still plenty of hoofers on Broadway but you don’t see it in other media much, especially tap, which has such elegance and subtle storytelling. Absolutely love the rapport between those two fellas.
