Latin Saying: Cui peccare licet peccat minus.

Cui peccare licet peccat minus.

One who is allowed to sin, sins less.

Cui=one
peccare= to sin
licet= allowed
peccat= sins
minus= less
This is an interesting saying. I have found that freedom is needed to choose not to sin.

What do you think?

  1. I think the ‘less sinning’ may have something to do with accountability.

    If I don’t have the freedom to sin, I am not accountable for my actions.   If I am not accountable, what would I care if I sin or not?  So, I sin.

    However, if there are consequences assigned to me for my sin decisions (accountability), well, now I have incentive to not sin.

    Freedom = Accountability

    Just my first thoughts.  I will think on this some more.
