Remembering Ross Perot

Here is an article about Ross Perot. He told a person with a wounded soldier son coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq  this.

Later when they spoke, Ross told Rosie two things: “One phone call is all you ever need to make if you need anything. Now, I want you to focus on Alan.” And that is exactly what happened.

It is really too bad that this story will be ignored by the news media. Perot wanted it that way while he was living but now that he has passed on it doesn’t hurt to share the kindness of the man.

  1. Bad people have a lot skeletons in their closets. Good people sometimes work hard that the good that they do remains hidden. The last thing they want is a photo op.

  2. Thanks for this post Dime. Perot was the first and only Independent I have ever voted for and especially after reading Ken Follett’s On Wings of Eagles, my admiration had no bounds.

I also knew two of his kids from Vanderbilt- Ross, Jr. and Nancy. Impressive family and they worshiped the ground on which their father walked. As did I.

    Great American.

  3. Some favorite quotes:

If you see a snake, just kill it – don’t appoint a committee on snakes.

The activist is not the man who says the river is dirty. The activist is the man who cleans up the river.

Eagles don’t flock, you have to find them one at a time.

Here is some background from favorite media critic Terry Mattingly, with info you are not likely to see otherwise.

I truly believe Perot despised GHWB for the same reason the Bush family despised Trump… Two different perspectives on the role of government and personal style of communication.

I wish I could have known what Perot thought of Trump before he died.

Perot gave the most he could to Trump’s re-election. He also gave in 2016.
