  1. Guessing:  The tree in the foreground looks like an ornamental pear, so the tree in the background would be a redbud.

    Nothing else that is the color of the redbud would be showing that much color while ornamental pears were in bloom.

  3. I don’t think the white one is a cherry.   The branches are the wrong shape.   I think we are looking at an Aristocrat.

    EThompson, this tree will live in Florida, but it won’t thrive.   They do OK in Memphis but we have to fight plant diseases with them.   Also, they are brittle trees that break in storms.   They are not as bad as Bradford pears, and they are not so invasive, either.

    I’m learning a bunch of stuff about what will and will not grow up here.

    I’ll write a post after my next meeting with landscape architect who is somewhat inexperienced dealing with SW Floridians who want it all. 🙂
