Protect Yourselves

I just finished a long conversation with my husband about our financial strategy going forward:

The Don is in the midst of making some long overdue corrections in our economy especially in reference to China. Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama  allowed a Communist superpower to fund a strong military and intellectual robbery.

However, this correction will continue to cause financial pain.

Even so, I will continue to vote for businessmen with vision and experience; politicians know nothing about money and my favorite! the State Dept ! believe their job is to appease the rest of the world and not to represent the best interests of America.

I won’t recommend any economic strategy here because that’s a personal decision based upon your individual finances, but I will recommend developing a defensive plan.

Do it now.

I totally understand you not wanting to give financial advice (I wouldn’t either), but could you at least tell us some of things that you are considering and watching out for in developing your defensive plan?

I’m flattered by your question but let me think about it.

I totally get it…I’m just wondering what (for example) signals you’re looking at…you don’t have to tell us how to interpret them or how to react to them.

  5. My guess here is that there might be a restructuring of location for some of the US firms embedded in China. I know some of this has happened as a result of the Chinese labor market has become more expensive, but I suspect we are seeing more.

Needless to say, the direct challenge of China is welcomed news to me. We have been sending jobs to China and others for at least two decades and it is time to end that.

  6. Hey, I’ve been writing Gnome-o-Grams for 11 years.  The best thing about giving free advice to which nobody pays attention is that there’s never a crowd when you’re loading up on supplies for the lifeboat or selling them after making landfall after a stormy voyage.  (1527/10152)

I agree but it has cost us and will continue to do so in the short term if he is not re-elected. I posted my commentary as a warning to deal with this.

As an aside, I curse the day we elected presidents with zero fiscal acumen. The Don has addressed nothing but that and he is treated as a leper. He is unbelievably threatening to the morons who have been running the legislative and executive branches for the past two decades.

I’d mention the judicial branch but John Roberts is such a lightweight on constitutional law, there are simply no words.

You are mistaken ET, it has been about 40 years, as I was so angry that Reagan didn’t even take care of business properly.

I agree and I was most probably remiss in not mentioning GHWBush-41 as well!
