  1. Kansas – not Kansas State, Kansas – goes on the road and beats BC!  First road win against a Power 5 team since 2008.  The players would have ranged from 7 to 11 in age when the last win came.  Good for the Jayhawks!  They might actually finish outside of the Bottom 10 this year.

Won’t be watching much of the Duck game.  They should blow out Montana, but a 7:45 pm kick time?  The Pac-12 has to get rid of Larry Scott.

  2. What great news to wake up to, the Tarholes lose! Today will be the first test for the N.C. State Wolfpack. Hope they are up to the task.

Montana is my dad’s alma mater. I wonder how bad the slaughter will be!

The Tech-Arizona game kicks off at 9:30pm Central. That’s crazy. But it will be nice to see the schools renew their rivalry. They haven’t played each other since 1989.

I think the Wolfpack will probably win. WVU has a bad team this year.

  5. Thanks, Mike. These weekly installments are good. They would be better if there just weren’t so much talk about Oregon Ducks and more about Huskies or Cougars.

I watched Zona in their game against Hawaii.  Their defense couldn’t stop anything.  I haven’t seen Tech play yet this year but they should be able to score at will – if they have any defense of their own they should take it.

I’m guessing that if the Ducks get up early they’ll take their foot off the gas earlier than they did against Nevada.  Last non-conference game and opportunity to get a lot of the 3rd string and beyond players some reps.  I’m still fantasizing, however, that Justin Herbert would be able to complete a pass (preferably a TD) to that freshman tight end – Patrick Herbert.

Well, WVa. sure handed it to State. On to the next game.

That result surprised me. Better luck next game!

I’m really not surprised. First year QB. Lost a lot of good seniors. Just don’t want the guys to get discouraged. It’s a great group of kids.

    Tech lost, 28-14. 🤬

Sorry to hear it.  Zona may be in our conference, but Oregon fans have had a fair amount of animosity towards them, particularly stemming back to the time of Mike Stoops as coach.  He openly bragged about his kids injuring our QBs (two in one game, one the next year).  Sumlin certainly seems like a classier act than Stoops, but the distaste remains.
