Biden’s Dentures

I saw a headline.   It was to the effect that Joe Biden had been observed fumbling over his dentures on the debate stage.   I did not read the article.

I saw a similar headline at another site.  And another.  This story is everywhere.

I do not think that wearing dentures is any sign of political weakness, lack of judgement or courage, or any sort of moral failing.   Why is this headline-worthy news?

It is not news.   It is unseemly and low and mean-spirited to make sport of the man on account of his dentures.

There are lots of sound reasons to mock, scoff, and jeer Joe Biden.

Doing so on account of his dentures is juvenile.

  1. Choosing tooth over facts…..

But I dont feel sorry for him.  Turnabout is fair play!  The media mercilessly mocked and ridiculed Trump for denture issues, remember—until the impeccable Dr. Ronny Jackson set it straight that” the President does not wear dentures or partials”. CTFO, we can’t afford this “we’re better  than they” attitude.    You wanna heal Biden’s ear, even though you know they’ll kill you anyway.

He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword, yes— but so shall die he who won’t even pick up the sword.

  2. I had meant to post on this. My issue is that most of the media who will address this use the word “teeth” instead of “dentures”. That seems to be an attempt to downplay the issue. When I read one of the headlines mentioning “teeth”, I assumed he had something stuck in his teeth (as I often have stuff stuck in my bridges). I did not suspect that the old gummer was auditioning for a Polident sponsorship.

  3. Never mind that he’s old.  At least he has the excuse of his advanced age for ranting about “in my day!” and for his pathetic “I knew Barack, he called me Joe, it was ‘Joe!’  all the time!”

The bigger question is, what are these younger Dems doing with expressions like “dude”—Kamala, the 1990s are calling!— and jokes like “Houston,  we’ve got a problem!” ?  (Amy: call 1-800-SOO-LAME….)

They’re all mired in the glorious Clinton-Obama past, and they won’t even acknowledge that the pronouncements actually made by the Cs and Os reeeely don’t support their current positions.

Trump, by contrast,  to some extent reinvents himself every day.  He takes cognizance of what is actually happening, not what he blindly believes has  to be happening based on his preconceptions; you can’t operate that way in business.  Thank you President Trump!

  4. So, his teeth are fake, his hair is fake.  Seems rather appropriate for Joe – he’s been pretending that he is a serious politician for decades.  It’s just part of his costume.

  5. George Washington got along just fine with wooden choppers.  What’s odd is how hesitant most of them (but not all) are to point out Biden’s obvious cognitive lapses, which are not a recent phenomenon.  Just listening to him speak in the most recent “debate”, he was obviously grasping for phrases and blurting out the first one which was a close match.

And he’s, by far, the most sane one on the stage.

  6. side-note: I’m seeing promoted Tulsi Gabbard ads show up on my FB. I don’t like it, because she’s serious and appealing.

I think she’s gearing up to run independently. if she does, who will she take more votes away from?

I don’t think she’ll  take many votes from anyone unless she discovers some vast source of money.  Third party candidates typically only have a realistic impact if they’ve got enough cash to get their face and message out there (Ross Perot).  The leftie cash is focused on the Big Name Lunatics.  I don’t see her garnering a bunch of cash from the Right outside of Bill Kristol (and I don’t think he’s extravagantly wealthy).
