Sun in Autumn

On this drizzly October day, I’m looking back on some recent sunnier memories. Here is the view from the house I just moved out of, when the furniture was mostly sold and I was operating from an office chair and folding desk tray. With the blue sky as backdrop and prospect of getting work done, this felt like a luxury.

Here I was getting ready to leave Kay’s house and we were talking about the view behind the apartment complex.

  1. In the first picture, it must have been late in the day, because there’s a spoon in my drink. That means it’s not coffee, but my favorite cold weather evening drink of hot chocolate made from cocoa powder, sugar, and milk. I don’t do the packets anymore. Sometimes I get the proportions just right, and it is the perfect mix of chocolatey and creamy.

I haven’t heard recently from Kay. How is she doing?

She is fine. I may see her today. I think she told me she is having issues trying to sign back in to Ratburger.

  3. I am here. Sawatdeeka just stopped by, changed my photo and got me back on-line. My photo is from the 1980s and I’m wearing my favorite tee shirt. It says Village Marina, and has a river rat standing on a wharf below the headline. It was my favorite watering hole on the Sacramento River, and no longer exists. A hotel now stands on that spot. I still have the shirt. I have a tendency to keep things, still have 1972 tax records. However, slowly but surely I am becoming reconciled to destroying all my old records, my life.

My meds is messing up my head, I have forgotten how to start a post.

Good to see you again, Kay.  Sawatdeeka is a great person.

  5. Ms. Kay, even if your meds are messing with you, I hope you can make it up to the rise out back to take in that marvelous view.

  6. MJBubba, I can sit at my kitchen table and enjoy that beautiful view. It’s raining a little at the moment, not hard but enough to keep me indoors. that view is actually across my patio, a lawn, then a parking lot, another lawn then the fence. A lot of activity out there, mostly with the birds fighting over the feeder, and a bit ago for the first time a tiny chipmunk turned up on the patio in front of my door. On the lawn behind the parking lot, we have deer with their young grazing on the lawn. Believe it or not, to the right of the parking lot is highway 2, and tons of traffic. However the wild life think this parcel is a part of the wilderness.
