College Football 2019 – Week 12

It is now mid-November and the end of college football’s regular season will be upon us in a few weeks.  Thus, teams are jockeying for position as conference championships and the postseason loom.  Let us look at a few matchups of interest.

In the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons ✝️😈 are on the road at the #3 Clemson Tigers 🐅. Also in the Carolinas, the N.C. State Wolfpack 🐺 will host the Louisville Cardinals 🐦.  The Big Ten has the undefeated #8 Minnesota Golden Gophers 🐿 at the #20 Iowa Hawkeyes 🐤, and in Ann Arbor the #15 Michigan Wolverines 🦡 will play the Michigan State Spartans ⚔️. In the Southeastern Conference, the marquee matchup will feature the #4 Georgia Bulldogs 🐶 at the #12 Auburn Tigers 🐯. The Big 12 Conference’s feature attraction is the #10 Oklahoma Sooners 👨🏻‍🌾 at the undefeated #13 Baylor Bears 🐻. Also, my Texas Tech Red Raiders 🏴‍☠️ will be hosting the TCU Horned Frogs 🐸. Out west in the Pac-12, the #6 Oregon Ducks 🦆 play the visiting Arizona Wildcats 🐱, and Mike Leach and the Washington State Cougars 🐆 host the Stanford Cardinal 🚩.  In addition, the game between the #23 Navy Midshipmen ⚓️ and the #16 Notre Dame Fighting Irish ☘️ should be worth watching.

Fall truly is a wonderful season, and I especially appreciate the scenery on the sidelines. God bless America! 😎🇺🇸

I am putting up a comment before that fowl member, GA, does.

    Go Dawgs!

    Quack Quack!

Wazzu is in last place in the PAC-12 North? Sad!

Yeah, the Cougs are having a rough year.  They played the Ducks tough in Eugene, but that was one of their best showings all season.  But if they can knock of the Trees today and the Beavs can take down the Devils, next week’s showdown in Pullman could be winner goes bowling while loser stays home.

  2. So I will be off to freeze my @*#, I mean tailgate, about 3:30. I’m hoping the Wolfpack show up for at least 2 quarters. I’m not one that leaves early, but tonight might test my metal. I can stand the cold, but the wind might prove too much.

Once again, Tech bungled away what should have been a sure win! I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!!! 😡😡😡

At least the Cougs are starting well against the Furd.

Yep, the Cougs won 49-22. And they should beat Oregon State next week to gain bowl eligibility.

The Red Raiders, on the other hand, must beat both Kansas State next week and UT after that to become bowl eligible. Not likely to happen.

  4. Well, the good news from Raleigh is the rain stay away, I dressed warm enough so as not to freeze and we scored 10 points before halftime. We stunk it up in the third quarter. Turnovers and penalties lose ballgames every time. Good night, all.

Beavs & Cougs go at it next week for bowl eligibility. Neither will be favored in their final game.

    From this morning’s fishwrap:

Does Oregon State have one more win left in this season? Oregon is on a mission of its own, as the Ducks are shooting for a College Football Playoff berth. The best shot seems to be next Saturday at Washington State, where the Cougars are 5-5 but feeling confident after a 49-22 win over Stanford.

WSU running back Max Borghi went as far as calling Oregon State roadkill, saying after the game that the Cougars are going bowling and “guaranteeing that because we’re gonna win next week.”

Togiai (Beaver tight end) was amused.

“He can say whatever he wants,” Togiai said. “We’re just going to prepare our best this week.”

Yep, and for that, the old fool Kent Hance (who fired him) should be banned from campus for life and his name struck from the campus chapel.
