No *** November

I don’t want to flag any algorithms, so I want to keep it clean. I have said in the past that I like to see what the kids are up to so that I am aware of youth culture. My daughter thinks this is weird but I will have the last laugh.

Anyway, there is a new thing, that young men online are doing called No Nut November. Basically, it is for young men to agree to stop watching porn and doing the activity that goes along with that for the entire month of November. If they fall off the wagon, they have to pledge to put up this coomer meme as their avatar. It is an online accountability community. This is awesome. Online porn is a plague to society and has done a lot of damage to young men, and women too. So this kind of online support mechanism to help men break their porn addiction is a great development.

The other interesting thing is the backlash to this. Now, maybe I’m old fashioned but I remember when the idea of watching porn and the activity that went along with it was frowned upon by society. Not so much anymore. The backlash is the biggest tell. It seems those in the upper ranks want to keep young men, docile and compliant. The best way to do that is to distract them with sex.

Paul Joseph Watson explains below. Check it out and let me know what you think.

  1. If men want to deny themselves something that is normal and healthy as a form of fasting, I can dig it. I don’t know if any great meaning one way or another can be tied to abstaining from Masturbation.

Hearing someone else talk about it is about as interesting as listening to someone’s diet.

I think it’s more about the porn addiction. Which is a serious thing. It’s like an online AA meeting.

  3. So this is the ol’  Seinfeld “Master of your domain” riff?  Good one! (the first time we heard it…)

Are these postulants allowed to have intercourse, just no wanking?  Or are they “InCels” ?

What did  I tell you? I was writing  just yesterday on your post about how masturbatory activity used to be the ultimate secret  pleasure, and now it’s going public.  Cum on! Or “coom “ on; since that’s how the kids(?) are spelling it these days….

  4. I don’t know the rules of this game, as I am not a participant. But, this is a very good step I think. Like I said before porn in a scourge on the younger generation. My generation late Xer and older wouldn’t really understand the prevalence because of the internet. This effects young men and women as it is harder and harder for them to have relationships that are meaningful. Trying to rid themselves of this horrible addiction is a very good thing. I know it seems funny, but the prevalence of porn has done great damage to the millennials and younger.

  5. Yeah. I remember a John Sebastian song:

”Why don’t you let me look myself/Instead of wavin  ’ it at me? / Don’t leave it hangin’ out and saggin’/ Over everything I see,/Don’t take it off till I’m ready—/ Let me have my little dreams—-

Have mercy on my poor ol’ prurient interest!”

  6. Watson always has an interesting take on cultural matters. The backlash against this is yet another sign of civilizational decline.

And speaking of civilizational decline, it seems that women want to get in on Movember: growing ‘staches in November. Just what I’ve always wanted: women with lots of facial hair. And what is it with November, anyhow?

  7. I think talking about giving up playing with yourself in a public forum is really weird.

The memes I have seen are No N at all. Not even sex. Not even nocternal emissions. That is a form of self denial, not just porn addiction.

In an age of Jeffrey Epstein self denial is an evil it seems. What would Jeffrey do? 😉

It’s a month. Also considering we have an obesity and porn addiction epidemic a little self denial is needed.

Is that a reference to coitus interruptus?

More power to them if they want it. My wife would complain.

  13. Let me be clear here: If this is something people what to do for their spiritual and psychological health, then I support it.

If it is the same as “stop drinking for a month to prove I can quit then go back to benders” but for a porn addiction (defined as a problem by them), then it is not doing them much good.

I don’t know what the rules are for married dudes. I just figured it was no porn and no …..doing the other thing. Although most wives, the good ones anyway, wants their hubby to …… self pleasure. So married dudes shouldn’t be doing that anyway.

Who knows what that loon, General Ripper, had in mind.

For married folks, No Nut November is a bridge too far. I’ll take definition 4 instead:

When you can’t eat cashews, almonds, or even legumes for the entire month of November
Nope, no pecans for you — it’s No-Nut November!

Actually, no. I won’t stop eating almonds either.

    Edit: Reference Bryan’s comment, above.

It’s a start. I see it as men helping each other. Maybe because this isn’t a problem in my life, but I have heard a lot of horror stories of men with this addiction.  Also the porn industry is evil, it is a human trafficking organization.  If you listen to interviews of any of the girls who get out of the business they will tell you how horrifying it is. Most of them have to get drunk or take drugs to get through scenes they are subjected humiliation and are threatened. It’s horrible. Anything to end this evil industry the better.

Feminism. Making women unattractive since the 1970.

  19. I don’t know who YouTube thinks I am but ‘NoFap’ videos started showing up in my recommended videos list last week.   I had no idea what they were about, but took a quick 5 minute listen on one or two and moved on as I am not a male in IRL.

That said, during the few minutes I watched, they were all very positive about the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of exorcising an addiction demon.

I took the videos as a sign that perhaps our society is maturing and healing, seeking freedom from excess and lack of self control.   Again, I watched very little, but what I heard was not ‘too much information’ or creepy in any manner.

Yes, but the backlash against it is a sign of immaturity and misandry.
