The Next Bog Thing

The Dems know they’re losing the impeachment battle. I wasn’t sure of that before, but now I am, because we’re witnessing the metamorphosis of their attack.
Has there ever been such a brilliant sobriquet for the entrenched bureaucrats of the deep state as “The Swamp”? Cuz you see, the river god, Proteus, from which we get “protean”, had the following MO: he could change form with dizzying rapidity, transforming in the very grip of his adversary from, say, a man, to a slippery, writhing eel! That often achieved his goal of escaping the mortal who had grabbed him. Which people kept on trying to do, because, if the adversary held on until daybreak despite the unnerving and rapid transformations, Proteus had to “prophesy”, meaning he had to surrender some boon or some important piece of information to his dogged adversary. Something TRUE. They’d hang out by bodies of water, rivers, streams, even marshes (swamps) at night, waiting for him to emerge, they’d brave the awful struggle, fight with a god! just so they could get this precious nugget of infallible wisdom.

Yesterday the Dems’ allies in the media began the metamorphosis. They’re readying us for the idea that Trump must be removed from office because of mental incapacity. I saw one headline: “White House Doctor Says Trump May Have Suffered a Series of Small Strokes”. Oh my God! I was almost shocked into loosing my tenacious hold on the monster’s tail—until I read that this “White House doctor” was B. Hussein’s physician, and a prime advocate of Obamacare. He hasn’t been anywhere near Trump. And today Newsweek has a long article that an “anonymous source” (him again!) in the WH says Trump has trouble remembering things he’s said. Oh, y’mean like poor demented Slimy Jim Comey?

I’m kinda an addict, as you know O Ratty—if I’m home,I watch Trump’s rallies, every minute of his speeches. Two hours plus, all of ‘em. Sharp,!funny, as crammed with substance as the huge and diverse crowd can absorb. I don’t think the Dems would dare let Uncle Joe stand up there all alone and speak for that long. I mean, manifestly, their champion is senile, so of course, a la Goebbels and Alinsky, they accuse our guy of their guy’s vulnerabilities.

But WHY does it keep working? No sooner does the swamp creature complete its metamorphosis, than everybody forgets, as completely as if subjected to ECT, the form it assumed only moments before!

Wha!? We never avowed, over and over for two years, that we had evidence of Russian collusion! It’s Ukraine, it was always Ukraine!
And I predict, when impeachment fails, it’ll be: Wha’!? We never thought Trump was clever enough to be plotting a complicated political scheme agianst Biden! It’s dementia, it’s always been dementia!

I am…so…tired.. will daybreak ever come? Can I hold on until then, to hear the desperate swamp demiurge, which fears nothing except daylight, forced to admit the truth? Or will its next violent and fantastical transformation shake me loose? I don’t know! In the fog of this war, the dark of this night, there’s only one thing I DO know: that the adversary will continue its protean deception.

  1. What an appropriate metaphor, Hyp!  I had to google Proteus to absorb all you said. I read, adversaries would sneak up on him and tie him up during his sleep, to try to vanquish him. So maybe, just maybe when the snail-like IG report finally lurches into view, it will send swat teams out in the middle of the night to bang on doors and hobble sleepy old Proty enough to get a few more swamp creatures hung out to dry.

But I fully expect, as you do, for the dems to continue to sabotage the impending election because it certainly isn’t looking good for them.

  2. Both your persistence and tolerance are quite admirable. I am so disgusted and depressed, I find myself relying upon you for the latest updates. I simply can’t bear to watch it. I’m even avoiding Laura Ingraham so you know it’s bad.

Don’t let this additional responsibility place any more pressure upon you. 🙂

We’ve begun avoiding Laura, too, but it is because all of this crap is lawyerly in its provenance.  She desperately wants to establish that she’s still a lawyer, and speaks over her guests more frequently than before, kinda like Hannity does for different reasons.  We find it hard to wait through his interminable and repetitive monologues.  Maybe after the assured death of this impeachment nonsense, TV will be watchable again.  For now, I just content myself by watching the YouTube bits of the interesting developments, most of which destroy even further the Democrat’s narrative and their political life.

I hear you TW but Laura is really smart (Dartmouth Review) and I don’t mind that tiny bit of arrogance. She’s earned it.

At least we have an intuitive and informed partisan on our side which is why I’ve been avoiding her. She has a tendency to bring up legal aspects of which I was blissfully unaware. 🙁

    Agree heartily.

They are re-grouping every night and launching a different attack each morning.   They can hardly focus-group test their memes that quickly; the fact that they are winging it shows.   They are counting on cover from the Talking Snake Media.

  6. This is why it’s significant to have those Hypatia types … 🙂 who have the patience to sift through the bull. I can’t do it and more importantly, it affects my naturally aggressive posture in the market.

Of course you’re right ET.  I’m just fed up with all this BS.  God bless Hyp for keeping us clued in!
