A Fine Distinction- Freedom of the Press

An observation:

Watching the not as good as his father Chris Wallace attack Trump for going after the ‘press’ and being dangerous to the ‘freedom of the press’ has triggered a thought.

Language is important in this war of image and memes.

We need to stop allowing the media of today to wear the dead skin off the carcass of the press they butchered and masquerade as virtuous.

We need to demand freedom of the press and state that todays media is a cartel run by a handful of economic interests and acts as the public relations department for them. Todays media is not “The Press”

We need to keep making this distinction and remove the dead skin of the carcass , revealing the slimy mess they have become.

We need a free press. The media is not that, they are the media. Let us not allow them to wear the mask.

X10: 50 stars. We must not let them control the language and the field of battle over freedom.

Too late. The legacy media have lost all credibility. The last, best hope is to return to the model of pamphleteering and many independent news outlets. Bloggers, YouTubers, etc. are far more reliable sources of information and ideas. Tim Pool, Scott Adams, Andy Ngo, and Styx are better sources and aggregators of information. Dave Rubin, Quillette, and Zman offer superior analysis and commentary (also Adams).

The legacy media (alphabet networks, newspapers) are profoundly threatened by alternative media, which is why they are doing all they can to suppress it. YouTube have changed their search algorithms to make it almost impossible to find alternative media content. The Recommended videos steer users to legacy media videos even though they have few views or likes.

Fortunately, there are alternatives to YouTube, such as BitChute and LBRY. Likewise, there are alternatives to Twitter: Gab and Telegram. These won’t all survive but pray that some do.

These are the times that try men’s souls. The future is Common Sense and The American Crisis, not reform of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, or Fox News.

I would support waterboarding Chris Wallace.

You only do that with people with information you want, Kevin. I would force him to be a co-anchor with Don Lemon or Rachel Maddow. That way he would never ever have a chance to speak.

I do not support ‘reform’- these institutions are owned by the wrong entities.  I want us to refuse to grant them the title of “press” or “journalist”

They have lost all credibility with the politically-aware voters on our side.

We are still in a desperate struggle to wreck their credibility with the low-information voters on both sides.

Laugh, scoff, mock them at every opportunity, especially on Facebook or Twitter or whatever social media outlets you use.   Share out posts that show up their lies.   Cross-post.

I just shared on my Facebook page an article about evil Google blocking President Trump re-election campaign ads from Youtube.   I linked to an article at CNN Business, to throw off any casual readers who would have skipped past the same material if it had been at Breitbart.   (CNN Business is a much better quality source than CNN.)

Yes but their ratings are way down. PewDiePie as several times more viewers than CNN. Only the converted still read the NYT. The jig is up.
