The Faces of Two Parties

Here is Jerry Nadler (D-NY) doing his best Joe McCarthy impression gaveling down objections by Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and other Republicans to having a “witness” subsequently ask questions on behalf of Democrats on the impeachment committee.

And this is Jim Jordan (R-OH) two days later, “They’re never going to stop. … They don’t like us.”

  1. They are not even trying to hide what they are doing anymore. It is blatant. It is partisan. And it is ugly.

What’s with this constant defaming of Joe McCarthy?

I have defended Senator McCarthy at some length in my review of Blacklisted by History, M. Stanton Evans’s biography.  That said, his style in running hearings as a committee chairman was particularly heavy-handed and reminiscent of Nadler’s running over the (righteous) opposition.

  3. This is just a show that is designed to distract the masses—both Democrats and Republicans—from the real problems facing the country. I’m sick and tired of this manipulation.

  4. This is disgusting, along with yesterday’s senate (sic) hearing where Lindsay Graham took apart the IG’s conclusions that he could find no evidence of bias. Remember the same FBI players tortured language and logic to clear Hillary. My first thought was that they think we are really stupid. Then I realized that, nowadays anything a swamp dweller says is automatically portrayed favorably by the MSM, even if it means not reporting really important stuff at all, as in silence about a subject like this one. Can you imagine the reporting if the IG report had been an investigation about mistreatment of or spying upon Dems by a Repub admin? The headline would cover the front page of the NYT/WashPost for weeks/months. The whining would be deafening.

McCarthy was right on the merits but butt ugly on the process. What a shame, it allowed future communists to hide behind McCarthy’s butt ugly ness.

Now the commies are out and proud.

You are 100% correct.  Did you read Coulter’s book about him?  She speaks a ton of unfashionable truths.

Perhaps, in this instance reference to  Joseph McCarthy, the writer is thinking of the somewhat occasional hesitant, bumbling speaking style of McCarthy.   Following is link to Senator being questioned on Face the Nation:

Re  the Senator’s thoughts about the Democrat party, seems to me, he was a man ahead of his times.

P.S.  BTW, I thought I was perhaps the only one who wondered how and why Senator McCarthy continues to be invalidated by the so many.    That is, until it occurred to me that perhaps they  do so simply because it was ‘them and theirs’ he was exposing.   And, as  THEY and theirs continue to be present in our government today, so too does the McCarthy ‘hate’.

Yes notice a couple of weeks ago this same “divided” Congress just extended the Patriot Act until March with overwhelming support, so yes this is all talk and all show from a Party that doesn’t care.
