Warm Wishes

I just want to thank everyone here for the great variety of wonderful writings and pictures that tumble through Ratburger every day! I don’t always comment but I see them and appreciate the work and the brain power that precedes them. I hope to be less of a Scrooge with my time, now that my busy season in work is almost over.

Warm wishes to everyone, wrap your family & friends up in a Snuggie, enjoy a Merry Christmas and toast a wonderful new year!

  1. I, too, would like to extend a Merry Christmas to all the Christians and Happy Hannukah to our Jewish members. (I always like to think we Christians are merely modern Jews.)

  2. As I told colleagues and clients in emails the other day – I know that not everyone celebrates Christmas.  Or Hannukah.  Or Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Martyrdom Day.  But this season is traditionally a time of reflection and hope throughout society.  So I would like to thank you and all other Ratburgers for the posts and comments as well.  And I hope to read, ponder, and laugh more throughout the coming year!

  4. In the Christmas Carol a lump of coal was a good thing, right? It was a little heat in the office.

A lump of coal to you, Pencil. It is a warm wish from me.

    MJBubba:
    Merry Christmas to all.

And happy season to the rest of y’all.

    Best to Snooks as well.

Ms. ET, thanks.   Will you be staying home, or traveling for Christmas?

We will be cozy at the edge of the swamp.   Younger son doesn’t arrive until the Sunday after Christmas, so our big blowout will be for New Years.

Oh!  This image, the yellow light spilling out from a belfry, just ravishes me!  Okay it’s common, but…the contrast between the warm yellow light and the cold silver of the exterior scene: I feel that, deep down inside.  This image doesn’t show it, but…I’ll bet, high up in the sky,  with the steeple pointing to it, there is a giant silver cruciform Star.

    So: 12/22/19, 11:45 PM.
I’m sitting here, reading and writing, so happy, anticipating Christmas, enjoying my decorations, remembering my party last night.  O Ratty, may you all be as happy!

  8. @hypatia, I’m glad your party was a success! You see nice light contrast in that picture. I see the nice rack on that deer looks like the one my game camera caught a few years ago. Merry Christmas!

I’m glad you all enjoyed the image.

Have you noticed there are no vehicles, sleds or people around  the church?

Just the train that seems to be loading people.

    The services are done.

At least in the image, yours are not.

You must continue to serve the Lord or Humanity, if you wish to do that instead, but please continue.

May you have a prosperous new year, have love, happiness and then…..

    …pass it forward.

    Gerry
