O Soleimani!

Didja hear? We just took out General Soleimani, the Iranian commander of the Quds forces, at the Baghdad Airport!

We have a C in C who actually takes decisive action in response to an incident like the “protests” at our embassy just 2 days ago—and kept it a secret till it was DONE!

Whaddya think Solemani’s obit in The NY Times will be?

  1. DJT must have watched The Boondock Saints over Christmas:

Murphy : There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over into true corruption, into our domain.

Connor : For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three. And on that day, you will reap it.

Murphy : And we will send you to whatever god you wish.

  2. On Friday morning NPR is wringing hands over this “escalation” and expect Iran and their client militias to kill Americans and trigger a full-on war.

  3. A few hours before, Sec. Defense Esper offered this:

“We’re prepared to do what is necessary to defend our personnel and our interests and our partners in the region,” Esper told reporters at the Pentagon, citing a series of violent attacks on U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq in recent months by Iran-supported militia groups.

The U.S. has “indications” that more Iranian provocations may be in the offing, Esper suggested without providing details.

“If that happens, then we will act and by the way, if we get word of attacks or some type indication, we will take preemptive action as well to protect American forces, to protect American lives,” he added.

A few minutes after, Sec. State Pompeo said

    ‘He needed killin’.’

Thanks to Trump’s sanctions, Iran doesn’t have the cash to do that unless Putin and Xi want to chip in.

I predict a revolution in that country.

  5. OK,  this is far down the list and prolly won’t get much notice, but never-the-less…

I could have sworn I seen him before. You have to admit, there is some resemblance to the purported; “most interesting man in the world”.

And IF that happens, we can smile at THEM getting into the quagmire, keep the sanctions, and pressure China on NorKo. Because who cares about Iran. Let Israel take care of them. Let the OTHER Mideast countries come up with a “solution” to a problem we don’t need – but we’d happily sell them military hardware to do what they want vis a vis Iran. Deep Penetrators would be high on that list.

  7. And we still have to get our hostages out of Afghanistan.  Our whole presence there is just pressure against us.  It complicates our options in the region.

  8. Interesting bit from BooBerg.  The tone is only slightly the far side of neutral, while admitting much against interest.
