Return of the Jeb!-i

I think Barr has been working for the Bushes all along.  He positioned himself to return to the AG position , which he held under GHWB, so he could take slow, exquisite revenge on Trump for destroying  the pathetic, boring (and essentially Democrat)scion of the Bush dynasty , “please-clap-Jeb.”

What a Valentine for us yesterday, on the one-year anniversary of Barr’s confirmation which we hailed with such hope:   Cheers, Andy! Take a bow,Strzok  and Page!

Oh yeah,Barr delivered a sweet ❤️ surprise, all right.

Just, not to us.

  1. Yesterday, I felt like the fire dept burned down my house while the police watched. Then the housing inspector sited me for an untidy lot and having a dwelling so flammable.

After further searching, I learned the pardon was only concerning the Hillary Email investigation. Hope returned concerning the Durham investigation. McCabe  is still on the hook for signing that 4th FISA Obamanation and other maleficence ,

So, I am nearing your position but await the Durham investigation results this summer.

Your our only hope obiwan Durham.

We must wait for Durham. The environment is cluttered with these smaller fish in the FBI who were useful but the real culprits who initiated the damaging and illegal actions against President Trump were/are in the intelligence community and the White House NSC.

  3. McCabe lied to federal officials!  Doncha get that: same thing Flynn and Stone were accused of doing, same thing that put Martha Stuart  away.
It is a crime to tell an untruth to any  federal official even if you don’t know it’s untrue.
Nah.  Barr had him. Dead to rights.  And let him go.  And I have no faith in Durham either.  I hope I’m wrong.

  4. Fog of war, smokescreen, misdirection,  MSM malfeasance, and possibly many more facets of the beltway hysteria rule the day.  Durham is coming and they are terrified, and in need of cover and cover fire.

I’ll bet Barr and Trump are in synch privately.

It looks as if Barr has the Stone and Flynn cases in his spotlight and that makes the judges in both cases very visible as well.

This is the stone that keeps Benghazi covered, and Benghazi covers other things.  This is still just a successful shortening of the Statue of Clintonations, the “Deny, Delay, Defeat” method of getting away with crimes by committing more crimes.  Running for office is part of their defense mechanism, and it works.

In some ways, the return of Hillary is inevitable — she can’t stop running until she dies or is “too old for jail”, or else the risk of jail gets uncomfortable.

  9. Though I detest the meaning behind it, Hyp, I can’t help but admire your hilarious post title.

I felt demoralized too by the McCabe writeoff. I don’t suppose there’s any way it could be that McCabe gave them some evidence on others in return for excusal? Would that have been leaked by now?

I wonder what prompts such an announcement from an AG. When he’s looking at multiple investigations like Barr is, is it just whichever one wraps up first that he announces? or is there a timing of the release of each decision for a reason? For instance, since the Rs had such a good week last, with acquittal, SOTU etc, would an AG seek to balance out the DC buzz by throwing a D win – a legitimate win, that he’d been keeping in his pocket – to the wailing Ds? And might he alternate his announcements so neither side gets too cocky or too undone?

It’s kinda hard to figure this out. There are some pretty timely analysts who look at all these events with some inside knowledge about how these things operate and some agree with Hyp. Obviously, there are a number of those within Barr’s circle who have been over the edge and he’s probably having some difficulty with that. I’m hoping none of that comes into play when he and Durham go after the intelligence types and the political types from Obama’s White House.

I certainly hope not.  that’s not in his job description.  That’s John Roberts’ approach, and it’s despicable.

  12. He was only exonerated for his part in the Hillary email affair.  He’s surely on Durham’s short list.  He’s still liable for the FISC submissions, too.  Far too early to start rending our garments.

Is it too early to start pre-rending ‘em, à la Petulant Pelosi?

  14. I am grasping for every straw of optimism I can find.

One thing is, A. G. Barr is not our only horse in this race.   We have Devin Nunes in the House, and Lindsey Graham in the Senate.  D. Nunes is limited to asking questions of the witnesses that A. Schiff allows to be called, but he can be pretty effective within the confines of that role.   And Senator Graham has turned 180 degrees around from Never and has become an amazing champion of American values and shows serious interest in protecting the President’s flank.

Here are a few encouraging remarks from Nunes:

    I don’t trust Lindsey Graham.

He is following the political winds to cover his ass.  Can you name one thing he has done other than run his mouth concerning the sedition.

Nothing can be done in the Senate unless a committee chair brings it forward.

Lindsey Graham Chair of the Judiciary Committee.

I call snake until he does something.

Read this from Sundance at CTH. If he has it right, it explains many of the moves but they need to finish it.

    https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/02/15/the-sentencing-of-michael-flynn-represents-a-very-big-problem-for-ag-bill-barr/

This seems to have the foundations right, but then goes to great trouble arranging the same just-so sequence of imaginary dominoes that justify insisting that everybody tiptoe, complete with a demonizing allegory (painting we who want the sedition EXPOSED AND EXPUNGED as some sort of rubes.  The whole fire truck analogy is insulting.

There is a very simple logic to having admitted that the government itself engaged in an anti-democratic coup, and then wondering what to do about it.  Weak men are not capable of following through on it.  Weak men try to hand-manage disasters into soft disasters for which nobody gets fired,a nd which get repeated.  Weak men assisting bad men are the moral hazard which turns deep state whispers and conspiracies into galloping totalitarianism.

If this article is right about Barr, etc, then he’s worse than Obama.  This is the sort of article written by people who feel very smart, and who feel the need to explain other very smart people to not so smart people.  So let’s hope that this article is full of crap.

The unsupported but oft-repeated assertion that nothing could survive the firestorm of exposing this particular seditious plot makes the progressive error of arrogating to the writer, and by extension to Barr, the role of saving the system from the consequences of corrective action — without which of course things are guaranteed to get worse not better.

Nothing we cherish is surviving anyway if this coup attempt is not brought down completely with all participants and enablers run out of town.
