The “Trumpster” was in my home town…

The only problem is my timing. We went to eat at our local watering hole at 4:15, 1615 for the rest of the world and our military friends. We were returning at 5:25, (that’s 1725), or should I say, attempting to return.

Had we been five minutes earlier, we would have been OK., but no, we were not OK. As I made the corner one block away from where we would have the last traffic light before the interstate, they pulled a sheriff’s vehicle across the lanes and blocked our passage.

You see there is one traffic light on one side of the bridge crossing the interstate and one on the other side, then just one stop sign on the way home for another mile.

So I pulled off the street, as there was a next to nothing curb, I went on the grass in front of someone’s house some 150 feet, about 46 meters, from the traffic light. We sat there for somewhere around a half hour, (30 minutes), watching the idiots trying to get around the sheriff’s vehicle and being told that the road was closed providing much entertainment to us observing.

I had thought the Presidential motorcade would get off this exit and go to the downtown that way, reason being; the state road crew was picking up trash along the exit ramp early this morning. I was wrong, obviously they anticipated a problem with “the beast” going down through some parts of the city where as the expressway from route 81 was a direct shot to downtown.

Finally after the motorcade, obviously went under the bridge and took the expressway, we could not see that happening from our location, they opened the four lane bridge again and we got a green light and finally proceeded to go home.

I took our doggies for a walk around the block and noticed a single military helicopter orbiting the city’s downtown area. yes, only one. Obviously they had more at the nearby airport, AVP,  ready to take flight from a scant few miles away.

I will not go into the FOX television presentation of the Presidential Town Hall Meeting very much, except to say he acted human, laughed, joked a bit and in the end I personally thought he was a tiny bit worried. I would be. But now he will be pitted against either a socialist or a party yes man both suffering the beginning stages of Alzheimers. Probably the worry is the swamp. Bloomberg is flooding it again with cash. That would worry any honest men and incumbents.

I empathize with your frustration. I went to hear the Don in 2016 in Florida and couldn’t even get on I-75 that would have normally taken me 30 minutes to get to the arena where he was holding his rally. 🙁

It was easier to see the Beatles in concert when I was a kid!
