Bluer Than Usual

The Pacific is bluer than usual this morning. People are out and about; no one seems to be panicking. I saw a lady with a cane who must have been in her 80s walking along the Esplanade. I broke my ten-day-long restaurant fast today and had breakfast at a small place by the beach. I know the owner and most of his staff. He’s taking a bit of a hit but has his chin up.

Now that there’s more awareness of the problem, people are taking steps to mitigate it. There are fewer than 100 reported cases of COVID-19 in my county of 10 million people and only one death. Even if the number of infected individuals is ten times greater than reported, that’s still only 0.1% infection rate and 0.1% mortality of the infected; if the number of reported cases is accurate, it’s 1% but subject to the small N problem.

I trust all the Ratburgers are well and enjoying the day.

  1. Enjoying a fine spring like day after a snowfall this weekend. Mount St Helens is in crisp view and the birds are singing.

Time to assemble the new lawn mower and attack my 300 sq ft of lawn in the back.

Ocean is blue here too, what a coincidence.

For all you sports fans, especially race fans.

I hope you didn’t lose a lot of money by betting on the wrong marble.
I was amazed how interesting this was. I assumed there was some variation in size and weight which made the difference in the performance as well as their initial starting position.

I was rooting for El Pollo Loco because I liked the name. It was competitive for a short while.

Do they still have that chain there? I used to like going to the Crazy Chicken.

Yes. It’s a hilarious name. I haven’t been there in ages but the chicken was pretty good: grilled not fried.
