Lawsuits over Shutdowns

I haven;t watched this yet — it’s rolling now — but I’m gratified to see this sort of thing.  I support the shutdowns in general, yet I also would not want to see such sweeping exercises of power go unremarked in the only way that matters short of insurrection.

So these lawsuits are a good thing.  Same way that I’m glad that even the guiltiest get a competent defense, lest too much be assumed too regularly.

I typically listen to this guy on 1.25x or better.

  1. The governors are out of control. It’s good to see pushback. In Virginia, for example, there doesn’t seem to be any recourse to the governor shutting the state down for a month then telling us this is the new normal and may stay this way for months. This is an outright abuse of power to force people out of work for potentially months on end. Governor Blackface needs to remember why the commonwealth’s motto is Sic Semper Tyrannis

  2. IMHO: If you didn’t have the  “item” before the closure, why not? if you didn’t, than that’s too bad.

as for lawyers, in my life I had to deal with six of them. three were slime balls and took my money or what would be considered excessive related to services preformed, don’t give me the bovine excrement about education required and compensation for, rather give me reasoning why common sense and humanity to help a fellow human being under duress from the system or another slime ball. Lawyers, in my book, are 50/50. A somewhat necessary evil. Outlined in the document from the court it was stated they can go about their business, except where it seems chasing ambulances.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! That might be the state motto, but nobody in that State is going to do anything. And don’t give me that gun rally episode as a counter. When exercising real tyranny, the only thing the tyrant understands is force. Ain’t nobody in Virginny going to raise up arms over this. Sic Semper Tyrannis, for sure.

    We’re ignoring the order.

Well, I’m glad to see that the legal industry is continuing undisturbed by shutdowns. Don’t worry, ambulance chasing will be one of the first restrictions to be removed. COVID-19 will be the greatest lawyers’ full employment program ever.

  7. Every day I receive another notice about courts being closed, scheduled hearings and trials postponed indefinitely.  So I don’t know how this lawsuit is going to progress.
