The Other China Possibility

What if China’s virus numbers and the 21 million cell phone account reduction are telling the same story?  Along with the expulsion of foreign journalists, the disappearing of online critics, and the utter silence from anybody except Xi?

What if China “liquidated” huge numbers of people to contain the virus?

Granted, the number killed doesn’t have to be 21 million.  Those could mostly be accounts that the CCP just decided to delete because it’s the surest way to disconnect people from the network.

But it doesn’t have to be zero, either.

  1. Do you have a link?

I don’t know if the modern world can hide things like this. People have means of communication and there are satellite pictures that were not around in times past.

  4. The 21M figure may be true but even the ChiComs can’t kill that fast and hide it. No, they’ve had more deaths they’re not reporting in the thousands: no big deal for the likes of them.

  6. Something is definitely fishy.  A week or so back somewhere it was reported that there were mass graves in Iran as observed from satellite. Are the Chinese exporting their dead? Another possibility is the number of containers that leave china on any given day. Will a ship of containers sink?

Wouldn’t be too sure. The communists have been killing that many way back in the Stone Age of WWII. Nothing says they can’t do it now better. Yes, eventually it will be found, but who cares by then.

    Either they deliberately let it out of that bioweapons lab, having decided to spread it worldwide over already established “Silk Road” with their own people as vectors;

Or, the release was an accident, but they decided to capitalize, er, rather Communize, on the opportunity.

I just heard that in Rhode Island, police are going door to door inquiring whether the householders are hiding any New Yorkers.  O yea, verily, this disease is contagious: and the contagion is totalitarian government.  We are all Communists now!

I was talking to my nephew who was a captain in fire department in Florida. He felt that the New Yorkers who avoided the quarantine and fled to Florida and spread the disease there should be locked in prison for at least six months. He told me at that time the suffering and near death of a beloved past Fire Department official because of the virus. He neglected to say anything about Karl Marx.

Why would he react in such away? Is it okay to freely evade quarantines and travel to other states? Where is the balance between safety  freedom and public safety? Are there commies everywhere?

It is hard for first responders at this time.

I dunno, I think they’d eat ‘em, just like the arms and legs of the headless corpses of the Aztec sacrifices  were sold in the marketplace.  Yum!  Reeeeeeel good eatin’ !

Awwww…one guy dies and he espouses mass incarcerations?  it didn’t occur to your nephew that maybe the virus wasn’t spread to Fla by New Yorkers, but by Chinese or Italian  tourists or Americans  returning from those countries? I’d say he oughta be locked up, for sedition against the  Bill of Rights!  (Nah, just kidding: we the Rightly-Guided don’t believe in punishment for thought-crime.)

It is hard for first responders; they are especially exposed, and when one contracts the disease from interactions with people who know better and should be self-quarantining, then the natural reaction is anger at the reckless persons who spread the virus.

This is true even if the carriers had not been tested positive and did not know they were carrying.  They knew they had come from areas of widespread contagion, and they deliberately disregarded the well-publicized guidances regarding suitable precautions.

The angered reaction is understandable.  The impulse to “lock them up” is, hopefully, a transitory reaction and will go away soon.  I doubt if your Fire Captain is a true Marxist.   But he lives in an area that is home to many true Marxists, and he is undoubtedly hearing many calls for authoritarian controls to be implemented.

  13. The thing about Communism is that it is authoritarian.  The special thing about Communism is the way they control information flow.  Ever since the early Soviets first busted up newspaper presses, Communists have desired to control information even more than they control people.

In our own times, China is amazingly effective at keeping information from their own people, and they are amazingly effective at keeping information away from Americans also.  In this they have the full cooperation of Leftist mass media and Evil Google.

They are clearly hiding something.   They are clearly hiding something major.  It probably involves deaths on a massive scale, but we don’t know.

It surprised me too because normally he is the nicest person you would ever meet. He was involved with a young girl who was a burn victim around 13. He thought about her future and without permission from his superiors  and  against the rules he told them to drive her to the big hospital. The driver said “I will get into trouble.”  He said, “Don’t worry this one is on me.”

  16. Back to the topic of the O.P.,

It appears that the residents of Hubei Province are not believing the propaganda they are being fed by their own government.

    https://www.redstate.com/nick-arama/2020/03/27/all-is-well-riot-breaks-out-on-bridge-in-hubei-as-people-try-to-leave-wuhan-virus-area/

On Friday, videos of the bridge confrontation showed a line of uniformed officers behind riot shields positioned across the bridge, blocking movement from Hubei province across the Yangtze River into Jiujiang, a city in Jiangxi. A large crowd marched toward the blockade chanting “Let’s go, Hubei!” In another video, Ma Yangzhou, the secretary of the party committee in Huangmei County on the Hubei side, urges people to disperse. “It’s dangerous for you to gather like this on the bridge,” he said, citing both the block to transportation and “the risk of virus infection.”

New reports say there was a riot on the bridge.

?So perrhaps the CCP is losing control. There seem to be more and more riots, uprisings, demonstrations, etc. The government, so efficient in totalitarian methods (not authoritative – I consider that a different concept), seems to be slipping. ?Could capitalism be making inroads in how people think.

This may be the single biggest argument against empire.

I doubt if capitalism is making inroads in mainland China.

But people will react strongly if there are a lot of unacknowledged deaths happening around them.  If they fear the virus more than the Chinese military police, that says a lot.

  19. https://www.redstate.com/elizabeth-vaughn/2020/03/28/heres-another-sign-china-may-be-lying-about-true-death-toll/

    Chinese investigative outlet Caixin reports:

When mortuaries opened back up this week in the Hubei capital, people had to wait in line for as long as five hours to receive the remains of their loved ones lost during the epidemic.

One photo published by Caixin shows a truck loaded with 2,500 urns arriving at the Hankou Mortuary. The driver said that he had delivered the same amount to the mortuary the day before.

Another photo shows stacks of urns inside the mortuary. There were seven stacks with 500 urns in each stack, adding up to 3,500 urns.

Taken together with the new shipment, the number of urns on hand at the mortuary looks to be more than double Wuhan’s death toll.

Urns are reportedly being distributed at a rate of 500 a day at the mortuary until the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, which falls on April 4 this year.
