Trump May Not Choose to Run Again

I would understand this; he’s wasting his personal time. This country no longer understands or appreciates him.

He’s of the Greatest Generation and nobody signs on to those values anymore. He will not allow himself to be put in a losing campaign and the Dems have been extraordinarily successful in defiling him.

He’s a fighter and a patriotic but I don’t believe he can survive this onslaught.

  1. My BMD thinks so, too.
I’d be very disappointed, though.  Think if the demoralizing effect on  his voters.  So I truly hope this doesn’t happen.

Of course I agree; but American voters get what they deserve.

I’m angry at and ashamed of my country. Glad I’m not traveling with an American passport.

Well if is t running he left no time for the GOP to nominate someone else. Of course getting to pick the nominee at a convention is exactly what the Nevers and GOPe want.

Oh boy!  Romney Redux? Kasich Kumback?
    There IS nobody else.

Intellectually I  certainly couldn’t blame the poor man, given what he has had to  endure.
But OTOH he hasnt been alone: a lot of us  have been flagellated, attacked, (I know you  have been, ET!) And ostracized along with him!  The thought that he’d break faith with us now is…actually devastating.

  4. For what it’s worth, he isn’t dropping out. I doubt he wins but he won’t drop out. I think he would rather go out fighting than give them the satisfaction of calling him a quitter for the rest of his days. I just hope he releases as much dirt on the deep state as he can before Plugs takes over

  5. Maybe Rick Scott but he’s not ready yet.

I desperately want the Donald but I have lost too many friends over this topic to believe he’ll recover.

  6. Question for EThompson who does not travel on an American passport — Where did the suggestion that President Trump would withdraw come from?  The New York Times?  The BBC?

It is a serious question, because it sounds rather like something desperate Democrats would dredge off the bottom of their stinking barrel.  They have tried every known dirty trick to dump the elected President (behavior which I, for one, will not forget) — and it has not worked.  Are the Democrats now planting false stories in the hope that MAGA supporters are less rock-ribbed than the President?

President Trump had the Democrats, the media (I know!  I know! It is the same thing), the RINOs (also the same thing), the NeverTrumpers (very much the same thing), and the polls (run by Democrats) against him before the the last election — and he did not quit.  Why would he quit now?

Side question — Where do you travel on your non-US passport?  Do you find yourself paying taxes to more than one country?

  7. I’m not the least bit concerned about Trump dropping out.  Based on what I personally saw at his Tulsa rally, he’s enjoying the company of those who like him, and we are rather numerous.  I don’t think he’ll leave us in the lurch.

  8. I also just read that Trump and his advisors have already accepted that they will lose.  Where does this crap come from?
I do remember it seemed hopeless in summer 2016 too.  But Trump is the incumbent now.

Commuting Stone’s sentence, given the reaction of Barr  and Commentators like McCarthy, doe seem like the action of someone who thought he had nothing to lose. It doesn’t seem worth it.  Why not let him go in, then get him right out on Covid risk?

I’d be cool with it if the other Republican has a better chance of winning. I’m a fan of Daniel Crenshaw personally. But I have no idea how to get elected.

  10. A fair percentage of the left in this country basically needs an exorcism. I truly feel that way.

But I don’t think our Prez will step away from the fray. He may well be disgusted with all politicians and even disappointed in rank & file supporters who are afraid to display support for him, but I think he has too much respect for our military and law enforcement to abandon them. His admiration for them seems strong and sincere.

I admire you for your having swallowed a lie that big.

I didn’t swallow any lie nor did I hear this from the MSM. I was merely expressing some personal concerns; it’s easy to develop some paranoia these days. I feel as if we’re in the middle of armageddon and I’m losing faith in the American people day by day.

Yesterday shook me up as a friend (married to a detective) told me there was a 400% increase in early retirement this year among police officers.

That is the point. It is a full on assault to demoralize Trump supporters to the point of giving up. Be steadfast, and Trump will never drop out, he’s not a quitter.

And you were shaken up — Why?  Democrats from Sock Puppet Biden downwards are blaming the police for enforcing laws passed by Democrat politicians, and yet you are surprised that some rational police officers are seeking early retirement?  Are you also expecting all of those early-retiring police officers to devote themselves to encouraging everyone to vote for the same Democrats who have excoriated them?

Notice also the complete lack of context — just as Democrats and their running dogs give no context to the deaths ascribed to Covid-19.  (Hint:  the vast majority of the thousands of US residents who die ever day do not have C-19).  A 400% increase might mean a police department with hundreds of officers sees an increase from the normal 1 officer seeking early retirement each season to 4 seeking early retirement this season.  Percentages without context are meaningless, a scare tactic — but you probably knew that, ET.

Seriously, ET, get a grip!   You are too smart to let yourself be manipulated like this.

A majority percentage of the left needs some kindof of decent religion.

    Or patriotism.

I think that’s a kind of religion. A good one. If you are decently patriotic you love other races and other sexual orientations providing that they respect whatever you are.

This Korean broad who is good at animating talked about it the lack of identity and faith in a youtube video. It was interesting.

Good comment and may I add if you are “decently patriotic” you appreciate the sacrifices, the boldness, the bravery and the unusual intelligence of our Founders.

I do. Ron Chernow’s book Alexander Hamilton absolutely stunned me. His personal life story is even more amazing and I genuinely hope his biological father (a man named Thomas Stevens) who hired him to work in Nevis and then sponsored his trip to America was able to witness the fruits of his labor.

    Sometimes, illegitimacy can produce wonders.
