If I do not think a book is worth reading, I find another book to review. I remember hearing in a sermon that we are like plastic bags filled with liquid. When adversity hits what is inside comes out. It can either be bitter or sweet.
We are seeing recently a lot of anger coming out. Excuses are made to riot. Instead of being “sweet” and making things better people are destroying things.
This “March on Washington” was billed as the “Keep your Knee Off Our Necks March.” It was what you would expect.
In particular, I heard one of the preachers toss out this rhetorical question:
“Why, after all these years, are we still marching for the same things Martin Luther King was marching for?!!?”
… “Californians learned the hard way that vigilante justice and the demands of the mob are no substitute for police and courts of law.”
Depends on which side of the muzzle you are on, how many shooters are assembled, and how much ammo you have. If violence was not the answer, you did not use enough of it. Given the multi-$trillion cost of Afghanstan, the US could have 500 lb dumb-bombed evry 1600 ft² and recycled the shrapnel via magnetic separation.
I tried to watch the DNC and gave up, life is short and it was too depressing. No uplift even for the true believers. It was the locker room of the losing team at halftime with a pissed off team owner.
