“…I Will Wear Him in My Heart’s Core..”

“Since my dear soul was mistress of her choice/And could of men distinguish, her election/Hath sealed thee for herself, for thou hast been—/As one in suffering all that suffers nothing—/A man that fortune’s buffets and rewards/Hast ta’en with equal thanks. And blessed are those/ Whose blood and judgment are so well commingled/That they are not a pipe for Fortune’s finger/To sound what stop she please.  Give me that man/ That is not passion’s slave, and I will wear him/In my heart’s core, ay, in my heart of heart..”     —Hamlet, III, 2

….As one in suffering all that suffers nothing! Give me that man, indeed:  TRUMP 2020!!

  1. I do not think of Trump as either so noble or so romantic, but I am certainly more devoted to President Trump than I have been to any politician since Ronald Reagan.

    Trump is pro-America.

Yeah I knew people might find this..embarrassingly bombastic, “romantic” as you say.
The first line , “since my dear soul…”, was running through my head. It is a beautiful, near perfect line of iambic pentameter, say I!  I couldn’t remember the context so I looked it up.  At the same time I heard Our Don on Fox,  saying what no one else (maybe not even we, O Ratty?) dares to say publicly: athletes kneeling during our anthem is “disgraceful”.
And he went on to say, if people don’t agree with me, I’ll lose the election; that’s okay!

Trump—and only he—is “not a pipe for Fortune’s finger/To sound what stop she please”.  I thought it was worth pointing out how rare, yes I’ll even say: how precious,  this is.  Call me  a romantic.

Your memory for poetry is impressive, and the connections you make are truly interesting.  Thanks.

You do not need to be a romantic to become a fan of President Trump.  He has labored more earnestly than any president in my lifetime to keep his campaign pledges.  He loves America, defends and promotes America.

No more than this is needed to distinguish him from the herd of self-dealers in Washington.
