We stand at a crossroads as a country with a distinct fork in the road ahead . When confronted with such a situation, Americans often heed the sage advice of Yogi Berra, the Philosopher “When you come to a fork in the road, take it”. A comic wit added “You never know when you might need a fork…”
For reasons known only to themselves, our elite class decided that the american middle class was not worth lording over, to expensive, too free, too unpredictable and so they decided to reduce us to worthless lotus eaters who are divided by gender, race, religion and values and replace us with better educated, striving overseas labor who worked for less and could be ruled by force.
The plan was on track since the 1970s.
It was a damn good and profitable racket and the ruling class did very well without actually doing much of anything. Progress stopped in many sectors, space , winning wars, education levels of the populace , infrastructure and more.
2016 stalled the inevitable plan.
An outsider decided the game was rigged and the people behind it were not all that capable, unlike their forebears. Applying a few rules of marketing and persuasion coupled with a mastery of the televised story, he assembled a rough majority of the remnants of the working and middle class and threw a wrench in the works.
We are now in a face off and we are all about to find out which side wins. The elites and the groups they have paid off or the rest of us.
There is no middle, no undecided. Political pacifism is not longer recognized, a luxury of a stable system where either side left you mostly alone to get on with your life.
Both sides in this fight face extinction. Such battles tend to be bloody.
As I look outside at masked souls wandering through fire wracked air I wonder who wants a better life than the version the elites have dealt out?
I remain an optimist as that as evil as the opposition is, it may have power and money but I do not see winners over there. I see people fighting not to lose, desperately and without much forethought. They squander credibility with abandon, not realizing that generations of their predecessor elites took decades to built that credibility up.
I wonder if any of them envision the world they will win if they succeed, and wonder if it will be worth the effort. Their footsoldiers will be destroyed, the middle ranks will be managed by fear and the rulers will be in perpetual internecine warfare to stay on top.
Does a Peter Strock have the awareness to realize that under Hillary he would have had a convenient accident as his knowledge was dangerous to her?
There is clever and there is wise. Too much clever on the other side.
