Recess!!

Oh, I HOPE The Don reads American Thinker,  specifically Brown’s article today, Trump should Make a Recess  Appointment to the Supreme Court.

He sez the Senate will go into recess on October 12 till after the election.  OK no way the Senate will conclude hearings and vote by Oct 12. ( I think they SHOULD just dispense with the hearings  if it’s Barrett, she just went through this, but IMHO that isn’t likely. )

Brown says many other Presidents have made  recess appts to the Supreme Court.   DO IT, our Don!   We cannot risk a SCOTUS tie vote if the election turns into 2000 redux.  That is truly the worst possible scenario.

  1. Give Nasty Pelosi  a  Ceaușescu  Christmas morning.  Failing that, expel DemSoc from American politics – whatever it takes.  America always was, is, and will ever be the splendid incandescence of civilization…Homo fulgor.

  2. This seems a little too cute. Pelosi can have the House o’ Representin’ hold pro forma sessions during October. This might have the effect of forcing the Senate to hold pro forma sessions, since neither house can adjourn for more than 3 days without the consent of the other.

Much better to get whoever the candidate confirmed ASAP.

Yes, it would be.  And-of course, The Don can’t  make a recess spot if the Senate doesn’t go into recess.   But as the author says, if they do ga and they haven’t voted,  Then on Oct 12 he should make a recess appt.

I guess I misunderstood your post. It sounded to me like you thought the recess appointment should be the prime strategy. I see I was wrong.
