Hunter’s laptop

You all saw it, right?   Because your social media pals alerted you to the story.

The New York Post got the scoop.   Hunter Biden’s laptop went unclaimed for over 90 days at a repair shop, and so under Delaware law it became fair game for the shop.  They hacked in and found Hunter’s e-mails.  They handed the laptop over to the FBI, after copying out some e-mails about Hunter’s business deals.  They appear to be very damaging to Hunter and Joe Biden, indicating a thriving business of influence peddling.

Facebook and Twitter immediately moved to suppress the story.  You can still find it easily on Google, especially if you use specific search terms like “Hunter Biden laptop.”  But, to Google’s credit, a search for “Hunter Biden” in Google News turned up the Fox News version of the story as the top hit on Thursday morning.

NBC News has a very short article that contains the minimal outline of the story and focuses on the fact that President Trump mentioned it at a rally, and says “unverified” twice in six sentences.  A quick casual reading of their story would make most of their readers dismiss it as just another whopper from Trump.

Other Big Media similarly posted the absolute minimum, in their continuing pretense to being purveyors of news.

And character assassination started immediately.  The computer shop owner is “sleazy” according to Slate and Daily Beast.

You know; the usual.

  1. Those on the left just don’t care. What would be a “bomb shell” if Trump did it , is just a nothing burger because a Dem did it.

Hopefully those on the fence will care.

Of course I saw it, yesterday. I suppose it depends on who your social media pals are.

When, oh when, are people going to learn not to trust Twitter, Facebook, Google, corporate media (including Fox)… did I leave anyone out?

If you’re still using Google for search and the corporate press for news, I’ve got nothing for you. If you still think “Fox is different,” here’s a little aide memoire for you:

Soros: the man whose name may not be spoken on Fox.

Somehow, Hunter is a member of the CT and DC Bars, with a clean disciplinary record:

Well from what I’ve heard Satan himself could not get disbarred in DC for character issues. When DC does their character and fitness, they just check your pulse. That is what I have been told.

I’m surprised it didn’t qualify him for the DC Bar hall of fame, after all his life has been a model for whoremongering junkies across the nation. Anytime you see the term, ‘Bar’ as it relates to lawyers, just think: Shyster Bastards of America, Quality Assurance division.

Isn’t it amazing what money and connections can accomplish in a nation declining into Third World status? From a piece in American Greatness, The Third Worlding of America:

To the extent there is a private sector in the Third World, it is intertwined with and dependent on the political one. Bribes are a necessary cost of doing business. But the real money is in public corruption, whether in the form of official or unofficial monopoly, government contracts, or the like.

As the Hunter Biden episode reminds us—along with the dozens of other well-paid relatives of politicians—self-enrichment among the political class is becoming an unremarkable feature of American life.

We’re not going to vote our way out of this.

I get a vote every time I chuck the fore-end or twist the speed loader.   I am an entire town, and I vote for Trump.  Add my neighbors and we are a city all voting for the President with one punctuated voice.

  9. Regarding the Larry C. Johnson story, this part of it bothers me:

Hunter signed the service ticket and John Paul Mac Isaac repaired the hard drive and downloaded the data. During this process he saw some disturbing images and a number of emails that concerned Ukraine, Burisma, China and other issues. With the work completed, Mr. Mac Isaac prepared an invoice, sent it to Hunter Biden and notified him that the computer was ready to be retrieved.

The way the chronology is told — which may be mixed up — the shop owner happened to see images and details of emails while presumably copying the hard drive contents to another drive, before it was abandoned and became his property.  What bothers me is that hard drive copying is very unlikely to be done by hand, file by file.  It seems the shop owner is admitting to being a snoop.  That’s a bad taste.

That doesn’t mean Bidens aren’t 100,000% guilty or the FBI protected them — that’s really easy to believe — but it’s a bad look.  I think we’ve come far enough that the way this ends is with the shop owner serving prison time and the hard drive being handed back to Hunter with an apology and a bow.  “Your pornography, sir.”  “Thank you.”

That is a concern — but from personal experience copying large batches of files from one computer to another as a part of business projects, it is not uncommon to run into a problem with long file names which have to be shortened, requiring manual intervention.  Also, if the hard drive was supposedly damaged and required careful checking to make sure everything which could be recovered was in fact recovered, it would not be unusual to open certain files to confirm they were readable.

Of course, the media story could also be incorrect or incomplete.

But you are certainly right — there is one law for senior Democrats and a much harsher law for peons who cross senior Democrats.  Hence Hillary! Clinton is free to walk the streets.

I had the same thought. Furthermore, I would have expected the guy to simply clone the drive, in which case none of the individual filenames or folders would be exposed. So, yeah, the guy’s probably a snoop. I bet a lot of repair guys are. That doesn’t make it right but it’s reality.

As for the chronology, it may well be wrong. Always keep in mind the Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect. Most of the news is bunk.

  12. New York Post clarified their timeline:

[Hunter Biden, after placing the order and handing the owner an external hard drive to hold the recovered files] never sets foot inside the store again.

The owner makes frequent attempts to contact Hunter to pick up his laptop, pay the $85 bill and return the keyboard and cord.

    No reply.

After 90 days, as per the work order signed by Hunter, the laptop becomes the store’s legal property.

In August, the computer repairman hears news reports about the leaked phone call in which President Trump raises Hunter and Joe Biden’s Burisma activity with Ukraine’s president — the call which sparked his impeachment.

The repairman does a word search of Burisma on Hunter’s laptop. Bingo.

Four months later, the impeachment is big news, so he decides to contact the FBI, via a friend, in case the material on the laptop is useful.

On Dec. 9 [2019] two FBI agents take away the laptop and hard drive.

In August this year, the repairman sees Giuliani on TV talking about Hunter and Burisma and decides to contact him via an e-mail address he finds online.

  13. Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Monday,  …during an exclusive interview on FOX Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” was asked about the allegations from Schiff, D-Calif., who over the weekend said that the Hunter Biden emails suggesting Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden had knowledge of, and was allegedly involved in, his son’s foreign business dealings.

“It’s funny that some of the people who complain the most about intelligence being politicized are the ones politicizing the intelligence,” Ratcliffe said. “Unfortunately, it is Adam Schiff who said the intelligence community believes the Hunter Biden laptop and emails on it are part of a Russian disinformation campaign.”

He added: “Let me be clear: the intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that. And we have shared no intelligence with Adam Schiff, or any member of Congress.”

Ratcliffe went on to say that it is “simply not true.”

  14. The true villian here is the FBI.  They have had Hunter’s laptop since last December and kept it hidden to protect Sleepy Joe, even though they knew it would exonerate President Trump who was undergoing the Big Impeach.

If Christopher Wray still has a job at the end of next week I will be very disappointed in President Trump.

    Acquitted Forever.
