Shut up About Court Packing!

…because it’s a winner for  the Dems, remember?  FDR was elected  to a Fourth (4th) term in spite  of that infamous effort—or was it because  of it?

And don’t forget: it worked! It totally cowed the Supreme Court! They stopped ruling against New Deal projects and they backed off trying to protect separation of powers.

Yet the GOP thinks the election is a done deal for  us if only they get Biden to outright endorse court packing?

Is there a spin doctor   in the house?

  1. Court-packing is a non-issue, primarily because the low-information voters don’t understand it, and they never will understand it, especially with the Fake News media re-defining it all over the place.

Well….there was a time , a month ago, when a lot of Americans knew FDR had tried it and that it was bad.  Dems have completely newsspoken that.  And everybody seems to know that—EXCEPT THE GOP!!!!!

  3. In this week’s Radio Derb, John Derbyshire discusses an article by Dennis Prager and Tim Groseclose  on American Greatness, “What Will Happen if the Democrats Pack the Supreme Court”.  The authors calculate that if Democrats expand the court to 15 judges to regain the 60% advantage conservatives will supposedly have (ignoring flippy wet Roberts for the moment) and then administrations continue to change parties an average of every ten years and continue the thus-established precedent of packing to restore the same advantage, the court would grow at a rate of 50% per decade.  That’s exponential growth, folks.

By 2120, with Republicans in power, the court would consist of 522 judges (313 conservatives and 209 commies), and if the Democrats win the election that year, the court would then grow to 783 judges (470 locusts and 313 quislings).  Not only would the court have become a “super legislature”, it would be larger than the actual legislative branch.

This, of course, assumes that other changes by a Biden/Harris regime do not render moot the possibility of Republicans ever winning another national election.

Furthermore, I think this is really an issue cooked up for the conventional Never Trump voter. The Left is saying that since Trump was illegally–note a bold step beyond illegitimately–elected, the Nevers should also disavow his judicial appointments despite the fact that until 5 minutes ago every single Never Trumper on the freaking planet touted the Federalist Society–the entity really doing the picking–as the greatest GOP centric special interest group because of its august intellect.

Here’s the other thing to keep in mind. This nomination for ACB has been one of the tamest confirmations that I have seen since paying attention in 1999. Not even John Roberts was this tame. This leads me to believe that the Dems are pretty sure they are going to win in November, and, as such, they are either going to increase the number of SCOTUS jurists to the number they need or they are going to impeach Kavanaugh. So mark it down, if the Dems win in Nov. they are doing one of those two things, increase SCOTUS or impeach Kavanaugh, maybe Gorsuch too.

John, this is already in the works. What do you think mail-in-balloting writ large is all about? You couple that with ballot harvesting and being able to count ballots post-marked after the election and hello, you have complete nullification of 47% of the country’s vote. They will see the numbers at the close of Nov. 3 and spend the next three to ten days “finding” the numbers they need to win. And they will do that for as long as the country tolerates it (meaning no armed revolt) or Christ returns (meaning sometime around 2030).

  6. Why have a Supreme Court at all?  Two branches of government are enough for any Socialist state.  Remand slaughter to local jurisdictions wherein local uprisings can be quelled by local jurisprudence purges. Socialism is about containment, the art of the mob repainting bounded problems.

They’d need 2/3 of the Senate to remove them, but impeachment would probably be enough for the Dems to justify telling lower courts to ignore opinions authored by those two.

They may not even need to elect Biden-Harris to accomplish that.  They are only three states away from National Popular Vote.

Or, the Kavanaugh hearing did so poorly in focus group testing that they decided not to take their chances so close to the election.

Nah, Dems do not operate that way. They are not afraid of bad press because there won’t be any. Think about it, if they cared about focus grouped outcomes being negative for them, Northern cities would not be burning and they would not be advocating chopadickoffomes/addadicktomes for 8 year olds.

DemSoc cites become precipitously all but uninhabitable…by design.  Deeply motivated massive out-migration vectors the political pathology of “Socialism done right,” infecting GOP decent places to live.

“Do you want your pie in the sky bye and bye, or do you want it NOW!  Vote Socialist.”  Socialists are mommies sacrificing strong sons to coddle weak sisters.
