Drain the Swamp

Even while keeping up a very demanding campaign, President Trump is continuing to work on longstanding campaign pledges.  He issued a new Executive Order to expose more upper policy-making positions in the Executive Branch to management correction.

Go, Trump, go.

Drain the Swamp.

This is winning.

The need to reduce protections within the civil service became apparent when training based on critical race theory was banned from the federal government. Within two weeks of the order, whistleblowers started to report that their scheduled critical race training would proceed—in direct violation of the order.

Many who made their careers in private industry were stunned. Any department head or manager who operates in direct defiance of an order from a CEO would not remain on the team for long. Yet when this happened in federal agencies, no one was apparently held accountable.

As the new executive order is written, the agencies will have discretion on how it is implemented through crafting detailed rules. This includes determining which positions will become Schedule F as defined in the executive order. These positions will have fewer protections and won’t be subject to competitive hiring.

  1. Personally, I support President Trump’s efforts to reign in the bureaucracy which is killing the country.  But …

This is almost 4 years too late.  The problem with relying on Executive Orders (or Supreme Court decisions) is that they are easily reversed by the next guy.  If Harris wins the election, Slow Joe’s AutoWriter pen will immediately sign another Executive Order restoring the status quo ante.

Let’s be optimistic and hope that President Trump is re-elected.  Will the situation really be any better?  Because this EO puts the Far Left bureaucratic foxes in charge of the hen house.   “… the agencies will have discretion on how it is implemented through crafting detailed rules.”  That guarantees that the Environmental Protection Agency, for example, will defenestrate anyone who is not 110% All In for the Climate Change Scam.

Let’s be really optimistic and hope that President Trump is re-elected, Republicans retain control of the Senate, Republicans gain control of the House — what then will be the probability of the Congressional Republicrats passing laws to get root & branch reform of the dysfunctional Federal bureaucracy?  We all know the answer would be about the same as the chances of them reforming the criminal FBI or the dangerously worthless CIA.

Sorry to be such a downer — but we have to be honest with ourselves and start from Sun Tzu’s dictum:  Know Yourself.

  2. Look, it took a long time for the Left to march through the federal government.  We did not realize how bad it was, and neither did the RINOs who did nothing as it happened all around them.

President Trump is only now getting to a position of having the leverage needed to really grapple with the problem.

We desperately need to re-elect President Trump.

What do you mean, “the RINOs did nothing”? They were the Left’s silent partners. Look how they are all behind Biden/Harris now (e.g., Lincoln Project, the Bushes, Ben Sasse, Mittens). They’ve been teamed up with the neoliberal, globalist Clintonistas for decades.
