Sympathy and blasphemy

I want to call your attention to a blog post at a different site.  It is well worth the three minutes it will take to read.  It is a story about people who expressed concern for a young man who lives very far away from them.

Actually, it is about the media coverage of the concern.  Our intrepid media critic was touched by the stories, but then started asking questions.  Questions of basic journalism.  Check it out:

Nigerian jihad summer 2020

This is an update of the continuing slaughter of Christians in Nigeria.

Muslim Fulani herdsmen on Monday (July 20) killed 11 Christians in an attack in Kaduna state, Nigeria, in the village of Gora Gan.

This brings the number of murdered Nigerian Christians to 50 since June 12. This particular attack sent seven survivors to the hospital in Zonkwa. Many houses were torched, and there are now over 500 new refugees in a camp in Zonkwa.

Bringing back our girls

No, not those girls from Chibok.   At least 150 of those girls have never been heard from.

This was 22 girls who were freed by the Nigerian military, along with 125 boys, from a “school” where they were imprisoned hostages.

Nigerian land dispute

Jihadis murdered over 7,000 civilians in Nigeria last year.   They continue the killing spree.   It goes unnoticed by western mass media.   It gets a little bit of coverage by Christian niche media.
