It is comforting to know He knows our needs before we do. I pray they can feel his touch

    I am sick at heart.
How long, O LORD, until you restore me?

Other people get rewarded now. Three years of a career going sideways. Kicked the the curb after 25 years of service last year, and stuck in an eddy now. Wasted. I know work is not everything, but it is like 1/3 of our lives. And I can look back and not feel I have ever made a difference.

Still getting screwed while doing the right thing. Tired of it. Other people are total SOBs and are rewarded in spades for it. Where is my reward for doing the right thing? It is never coming. Cannot even take time off.

    • I could quote scripture to why this is and when reward comes. However, you undoubtedly know this. So sorry for your discouragement Bryan. Will pray for relief.

    • Remember Joseph, David, and Moses. Joseph was falsely imprisoned, and even after helping the cupbearer, remained in prison two full years before he was remembered. David was in exile for years being pursued and/or hiding from Saul. Moses spent 40 years in exile in Midian after killing an Egyptian. None of them were forgotten by God. The endured by His grace, and he had plans for them even when they couldn’t see the point of what they were going through. Hold fast to Him, and trust in His provision and endurance which is beyond what we can do ourselves.

You never know when an Angel will cross your path. You will often not know when you are the Angel crossing the path of someone else. Nice to have one in my path today. Thanks for the support guys.

Thanks, Richard. I guess I am caught up in the things that can be measured. “If you cannot measure it, it does not matter.” “What are the metrics”, “Prove your ROI”. I get this all day every day. When I look at my life, I see that by measures and metrics, I am always behind my Dad and Brother and Friends. It has ever been such. In this world, anything outside that ROI does not matter. No one wants you for you, but what you can do for them.

I have no idea what God’s plan is for me. Lately, I seem to have no effect at all where I want to have an effect. It is very discouraging.

    • Am sorry that things don’t appear to be working. But you may well be having a positive effect on people that is not clear to you. The articles you’ve written are wondeful.

Brother Bryan, of course you know better than this. I am sorry to see you discouraged. Please enjoy your family at Christmas; take pleasure and pride in them, and call to mind the joy that Christians share at the Festival of the Nativity.

    • I wish I had some magic words. I don’t. Sometimes life sucks and you feel like giving up. I have never run a marathon but I have heard of the dreaded wall in the middle of the race. You have to keep going to break through it. But how do you do it when your body tells you to stop because you can’t make it.
This helps me. Good times don’t always last forever and bad times don’t either but it can sure feel like it.

Suicide is on the rise. So tragic.

Friend’s son, age 14, caught looking up how to tie a noose. Please pray for him and his family. They are taking steps, but it is hard for them to find the help they need. I need prayers they will get what they need. Sweet, sweet, boy, but Depressed.

    • Good for them that they have someone like you who can help them obtain appropriate resources.
I was once asked by grieving parents if I could be the one to identify the body of their son. I was glad to relieve them of that painful duty. I could not have realized how painful it would be until I did it.
Bryan, you and he and his parents have my ardent prayers.

    • If you can, please impress on the young man just how much pain he would inflict on his family. I accompanied the brother of the suicide to a support group survivors of suicides. That brought back vividly all the pain; it was so good for the brother, but so emotionally wringing, that he has not gone back. I will ask him soon about a return visit. It has been five years now, and healing is still in progress.

    • It is easy for someone at a young age to believe the pain will last forever. The pain is real but it is fiction to think that anything will last forever.
Suicide is terrible because it devastate those who love the person. One can’t understand the pain that was so terrible in that other person’s heart.

Thank you. This is the prayer I will say today at lunch:

We give thanks to you Lord, for you are good! Your faithful love endures forever. Let all the people repeat: “Your faithful love endures forever.” Let your followers repeat: “Your faithful love endures forever.” Let all who fear the Lord repeat: “Your faithful love endures forever.”
In our distress we prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered us and set us free. The Lord is for us, so we will have no fear. What can mere people do to us? You are our God, and we will praise you! You are our God, and we will exalt you! We giv…[Read more]
