Will a mod please read this https://www.ratburger.org/index.php/2018/09/05/part-one-so-there-is-no-such-thing-as-a-modern-day-free-market/#comment-21247 and my comment about how I tried to make this a draft, private status only but I see it is public… How do I get something to be a draft? Please explain that. And if I select PRIVATE using the edit function, and then I apply that PRIVATE status to my writing, why is it still public?

    • You are conflating two things private status and draft status. Which do you want? Private means only logged in members can see it. Draft means only you can see it.

    • I explained things in a comment.

I attempted in my “White Supremacist” OP to go ahead and edit the comments I recently made to Phil Turmel. But when I hit edit, and then made the needed changes, I would hit “update” to be told I could not access that page. What? Why not?

    • I do not know what is going on here. You received a 403 error, which is what usually happens when, for example, a user attempts to edit a comment by another user. If I, say, try to edit your comment, that’s the error I get. You can also get a 403 if there is a synchronisation error between the front-end (user interface) and back-end (database operations).

I tried editing one of my own comments and had no problems. I also edited your comment as an administrator (making no changes) and it worked OK. Yours were the only 403 errors in the last 30,000 log entries.

      Do you remember…[Read more]

So I went back in Larry Koler’s history to reach a topic he had up with a Jordan Peterson video. (Posted on May 31st ’18) And then there didn’t seem to be a way to comment, or to read comments. Enough people posted that there must have been comments? How do I go back to read something and maintain the ability to add comment? It is always easy to add comments when a topic is new, but apparently older topics present difficulties?

I would love a way to stay on the page I want in my archives. right now, a user has the ability to be on page one of the archives, newest to oldest, or page one of oldest to newest. But when you want to deal with anything that is “in” more than three pages from either of those parameters, you’ re booted out if you use the page. So maybe I wanna view topic X, which resides on Page Three of Oldest to newest. But first I select delete items I want deleted from Page Three in from oldest to newest. I arrive back out on Page One of Newest to Oldest and have to click four different places to…[Read more]

OH and as far as the info in the post right below, I admit I am not a fan of the monarchy… Is this site secretly in collusion with the British monarchy? (because that would explain it all.)

I tried to make a reply in one of the topics up about the Royal Wedding. Once I hit “send” I got taken to a dialogue box that made me admit I am not a robot. And I had to check the photos that were of store fronts. And then I had to submit other stuff, like my email. I did all that, and still couldn’t make the post. I had Word up and running – this is the first time I had Word running while RB is being read. What gives?

Our cat, Vanna, borrowed our credit card. She then tried to purchase some ratburgers from ratburger.com… The transaction went through, but she never got the burgers… Are the Admins here connected to ratburger.com in any way?
If so, pls be advised she is the meanest damn cat in the world, and you won’t be safe should you step foot in Lake County Calif.

    • We are not connected to Ratburger.com. (Well, I am not. John might be getting kickbacks and not sharing though.)

I wanted my latest OP to be in the “Humor” section. I went to the Humor section and thought by opening my topic there, it might end up in the Humor group… Did it? (It has the word “Trivia” in the title.) If I did not get it inside “Humor” then pls explain: how do I direct a new OP to be in any one forum over another?

    • I think you are talking about Categories, right?

I see the right categories were selected now.

    • When composing a post, you specify its categories in the “Categories” box at the right of the composition box (on narrow-screen devices, such as many mobile platforms, it may be at the bottom, below the composition window). Check the categories in which you wish the post to appear (you can check as many as you like) and, optionally, enter tags for the post (providing finer detail than categories). The category you were viewing has no influence on the category(ies) of a new post you compose. It’s customary to specify categories indicating how controversial a post is (Mild, Med…[Read more]
