President Trump: “Every Child, Born and Unborn, is a Sacred Gift From God”

In unprecedented remarks, President Trump told the General Assembly, “Like many nations here today, we in America believe that every child – born and unborn – is a sacred gift from God.”

Archbishop Viganò came out of hiding to condemn Cardinal Marx.

    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/breaking-vigano-comes-out-of-hiding-to-protest-german-bishops-synodal-path-of-destruction

In his first public appearance since going into hiding over a year ago, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò joined other prominent Catholics in Munich today in prayer and protest against the German Episcopal Conference and its President Cardinal Marx. The Vatican whistleblower joined Catholic laity to oppose the German prelates’ plan to embark on a “synodal path” that critics say would create a “new ch…[Read more]

    Welcome, Lizards.
I am the owner of one of the most active groups here, and it might be a little confusing so I will explain. Happy Warriors began life at another membership group blog named Ricochet, where it still lives on as a refuge for supporters of President Trump.
At Ratburger.org, Happy Warriors is both a place to celebrate conservative victories by President Trump and Team Trump, and also a place to vent about that other group blog. The venting is done by a small group of dual-passport members who prefer to vent here rather than where their remarks can be observed by the…[Read more]

John, your fix worked. I got back on the site about an hour and a half ago, and have not encountered the problem since then.
    Thanks a heap. Good work.

    I am getting “Error 500” a lot.
I tried a restart. I switched from Chrome to Brave.
    Still crashing.
    No difficulties on other sites.

    • Now taking only 10 seconds or so to load. Was brutal late morning and early afternoon. Occasionally would time out before the menu bar could load

    • There is some kind of bizarre out of memory problem that I haven’t seen before. It appears to have started at 19:23:40 UTC. I am investigating it now.

    • From the investigation so far, it appears we are hitting the internal (self-enforced) limit on memory allocation for PHP-FPM worker processes. We last ran into this on 2019-07-24, when I increased the default maximum allocation from 128 Mb to 256 Mb. The messages in the log appear to indicate we are now hitting that limit, which causes 500 errors. (I don’t know if it can cause slow response.)

I increased the maximum to 512 Mb. Since I did this, I haven’t seen a 500 error (but that’s just a few minutes so far). We’ll see.

    • This appears to be a combination of increased load on the site running into a memory limit configured in the server and/or an attack consuming resources which ran into the limit. A summary is on tonight’s Updates Group post:

As I note, I lack the tools to identify the cause of these perturbations, so at the moment, I’m mostly trying things to see what happens. Please let me know if you perceive the problems to have abated or, sadly, stayed the same or gotten worse.

    • Had not been on desktop site since late afternoon 1/11. Seems to be running fine this morning. Menu bar populates immediately.

Ratburger.org keeps crashing. I think it is just repeatedly timing out, on account of AT&T lies about my level of service. It is Friday night and every account is either streaming a movie or playing a MMG, so our little copper hub is choked.

Unless you see something special, assume the problem is on my end. But it is frustrating.

Thanks, John. I continue to be impressed.
    And thanks for your commentary.

That was my report of a problem scheduling a post for delayed publication. I still don’t know what I did wrong.
    Thanks.

Yes; I looked for it, and since it was not there I clicked on the “publish” button.
I was assuming that the time was a 24-hour “military” time, since no option was given for am or pm.

    Thanks.

Good call on disabling a vulnerability. Thanks for reading the code and keeping Ratburger.org safe.

I had set my Beaver Swamp post for delayed publishing at 10:39 this morning. What did I do wrong?

    • The post is published, on the main page, and if I view its metadata in the administration page, it shows:

      Published on: Jan 4, 2020 at 10:39

which looks correct. Did you manually publish it after it failed to appear? If not, everything looks OK. I have never tried a scheduled post, so it’s entirely possible something may be wrong with it, but I don’t see anything wrong with this one.

    • I was able to post-publish my A380 post just a day (or three) ago.

    • I have edited the posting time on this post so that it appears at the top of the main page rather than several posts down (based upon the time when it was scheduled to be posted).

    • I set my post today, “Douglas Casey’s Predictions for the 2020s”, scheduled to be published at 15:30 UTC around 20 minutes earlier. The post was published on schedule at the appointed time.

Queen Elizabeth II’s Christmas Message for 2019. Brief at just over five minutes, it is gentle, encouraging and Christian to the core.

Is there any indication that the “Pro” version would result in less Administrator time required to maintain the site?

  • MJBubba posted a new activity comment 1 month, 1 week ago

Regarding manually using the explicit “more” link,
when I saw that this causes the post to open in a new tab, I quit using it. Now that this operational difference is “mature,” I will think about using it again.
    Thanks.

Should I laugh or cry? Your comments are funny, but we can tell what a great time suck site maintenance has become.
You are doing a wonderful job. I check in at Ratburger.org two or three times a day, usually spending over a half hour and sometimes over an hour cruising through the conversations. I have not noticed any glitches or problems here in many months. Congratulations on keeping such a clean and user-friendly site.
    Thanks.
