    Judging by the TradCath response at R> in their Cath group, no defense is available as they are shocked and frustrated by all of it.

    I’m having a hard time figuring out their heresy rules and the Pope’s authority. It’s not straightforward and difficult to figure why we can’t just say Francis is a heretic at this point. It boils down to him not saying stuff from a position of papal authority, but he is a Bishop with bishop authority and he is leading people astray. That should be enough to call him a heretic.

    That writer is quite skilled – “the people who read 666 liberal and conservative Catholic blogs every day, just trying to keep up ” – the devil is in the details. Subtle 🙂

    I don’t even know anymore.
    One of the comments on the convention page was a reverend being glad the focus was off the virgin mary since no one believes that crap anymore.
    /*sigh*/
    Anyway, I found a great church… completely foreign to me, but the pastor has been excellent.

    So I had dinner with an Episopal priest last night and he was upset that at the National convention, the conservative portion of bishops were positioning against a lot of “MeToo” motions.

    Something that concerns me in both the MeToo movement and immigration in the church is that all of the force is directed at everyone out of the affected groups and none is directed at the affected group.

    For instance, the convention wants protections for women from harassment and molestation and equal pay.

    • You’re right to be concerned about this. Social justice tends to only favor the oppressed. It is in direct contradiction to biblical teaching such as Leviticus 19:15 “You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly.”
